Description
ACTION OF CALCIUM CHLORIDE 77% AGRO:
Calcium chloride (CaCl2) in flake form Tetra is a product of exceptional purity and a wide range of applications. In plant cultivation, it acts as an intensive foliar fertiliser, supplying calcium essential for building cell walls, which directly translates into mechanical tissue resistance and crop health. Thanks to its strong hygroscopic properties, the preparation reacts instantly with moisture after application to the plant or soil, becoming fully available to the vascular system. In winter, calcium chloride is used for ice control – upon contact with snow or ice, it releases heat, causing immediate melting of deposits without leaving harmful white residues or damaging delicate surfaces such as paving stones or gres tiles.
Advantages of using calcium chloride:
- Significant improvement in crop quality: Increases firmness of fruits and vegetables, preventing diseases such as bitter pit and tipburn.
- Strengthening plant resistance: Builds strong cell walls, protecting crops from pathogens and environmental stress.
- Extreme winter effectiveness: Eliminates ice and black ice at temperatures where ordinary salt ceases to work (down to -40°C).
- Infrastructure safety: Does not cause discoloration of paving stones and is much less corrosive to vehicles and footwear.
- Long-lasting effect: The de-icing effect lasts on surfaces for up to 72 hours after application.
COMPOSITION AND PROPERTIES:
Active substance: Calcium chloride (CaCl2) – concentration 77%.
Form: Flakes (Tetra).
Properties: Hygroscopic, highly soluble in water, exothermic (releases heat upon dissolving).
APPLICATION IN AGRICULTURE AND HORTICULTURE:
Dosage and application timing:
Orchard crops (fruit trees):
It is recommended to use a 6-8% solution. Treatments are performed as foliar sprays, using approximately 500 litres of working solution per hectare. Regular calcium feeding in this form critically affects the structure of apples, pears and stone fruits.
Vegetable crops (cabbage and others):
To eliminate tipburn (necrosis of leaf edges), use an aqueous solution:
- 0.7% for young plants,
- 1% for mature plants.
Recommended volume is 500-1000 litres of solution per hectare.
Optimal application conditions:
Treatments are best carried out in the evening or on cloudy, cool days, which promotes better calcium absorption through stomata. During periods of high temperatures, treatment effectiveness can be enhanced by adding amino acids to the solution.
WINTER SURFACE MAINTENANCE:
Instructions for use on ice and snow:
Calcium chloride can be used in solid form or as a ready brine (solution). It is safe for animal paws and does not cause mechanical damage to surfaces.
- Dry method: Evenly spread flakes on icy road surfaces, parking lots or stairs.
- Wet method: Spray the solution onto surfaces to eliminate frost or black ice.
WARNING: Due to its strong hygroscopic and irritating properties, it is recommended to wear protective gloves when handling the product. Store the product in tightly closed packaging to prevent caking caused by moisture from the air.
