Description

Elipris (flufenacet, diflufenican, methyl halauxifen – Arylex) Corteva - herbicide

Benefits of using Elipris herbicide, Corteva:

  • Comprehensive weed control in winter cereals for single autumn application.
  • Effectively controls resistant biotypes of cornflower and blackgrass.
  • Ideal for conventional farming.
  • Unique mode of action for fast and effective control.
  • Broad spectrum of controlled weeds (geraniums, cleavers, fumitories, dead-nettles, poppies),
  • Low and effective dose per hectare.
  • No crop rotation issues.
  • Wide application window - works from 2°C,
  • Flexibility under various weather conditions.
  • Favourable toxicological and environmental profile,
  • Rapid soil degradation.
  • Compatible with other substances,
  • Contains three active substances with different modes of action - for better efficacy.

Elipris is a selective herbicide. It is available as a concentrated suspension concentrate (SC) for preparing aqueous solutions, which enhances the speed of action and increases its herbicidal effect. It has systemic action. The product is absorbed through roots, cotyledons and leaves. After treatment, sensitive weeds stop growing, followed by leaf and stem deformities and chlorosis leading to necrosis and weed death. Visual symptoms depend on the weed species and appear within a few days to several weeks after treatment. Elipris herbicide is applied foliarly for autumn control of dicotyledonous weeds in winter cereals.

Elipris is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Elipris herbicide - active substance content:

  • diflufenican (a pyridinyloxycarboxamide compound) - 180 g/l (15.26%),
  • flufenacet (an oxyacetamide compound) - 240 g/l (20.34%),
  • methyl halauxifen – Arylex (an aryloxyphenoxy compound) - 11.7 g/l (1%),
  • safener - 7.8 g/l.

According to HRAC classification, the active substance methyl halauxifen belongs to group 4 (formerly group O), diflufenican to group 12 (formerly group F1), and flufenacet to group 15 (formerly group K3).

Arylex Active in Elipris herbicide:

Elipris is another product containing Arylex Active. This active substance belongs to a completely new chemical group of aryloxyphenoxy compounds, classified within synthetic auxins (group O according to HRAC). Its presence in Elipris brings numerous benefits.

Elipris Corteva - mode of action:

Elipris herbicide contains three active substances with different modes of action.

Methyl halauxifen is an active substance from the aryloxyphenoxy group classified as a growth regulator (also called synthetic auxins). In the plant, it inhibits the action of plant hormones responsible for growth and development. Symptoms include leaf and stem deformities followed by plant death.

Diflufenican is a contact herbicide (with limited translocation in the plant), classified as an inhibitor of carotenoid and chlorophyll biosynthesis in weed cells. The lack of these structures causes bleaching of leaf tissues and cell breakdown, especially visible in new tissues. Diflufenican remains on the soil surface for a long time after application, forming a thin layer that acts contactually on emerging young, actively growing weeds.

Flufenacet is a systemic herbicide, classified as an inhibitor of long-chain fatty acid synthesis. It is mainly absorbed through the roots and hypocotyl of germinating weeds. It remains active in the soil for many weeks after treatment, maintaining high herbicidal efficacy also at later stages.

Elipris Corteva plant protection product - conditions favouring and hindering proper action:

The fastest and best herbicidal effect is achieved when applied to well-cultivated (clod-free) soil, on weeds in early developmental stages, i.e. during germination, shortly after emergence or at seedling stage. To ensure proper weed control after application, do not perform agrotechnical treatments that disturb the soil surface. Optimal soil moisture favours high efficacy.

Prolonged drought may reduce herbicidal efficacy and delay degradation in the soil.

The product can be used in a wide air temperature range (from 2 to 25°C), under low or high air humidity.

Rainfall occurring 60 minutes after treatment does not reduce efficacy.

Which weeds does Elipris herbicide control?

Sensitive weeds (BBCH 00-21):

  • small geranium,
  • cornflower,
  • field violet,
  • common chickweed,
  • purple dead-nettle,
  • red dead-nettle,
  • field poppy,
  • scentless mayweed,
  • blackgrass,
  • ivy-leaved speedwell,
  • Persian speedwell,
  • field speedwell,
  • cleavers,
  • common chamomile,
  • common ragwort,
  • shepherd's purse,
  • field pennycress,
  • annual meadow-grass.

Elipris herbicide can be used in crops:

  • winter wheat,
  • winter barley,
  • winter rye,
  • winter triticale.

Elipris herbicide - crop rotation:

The plant protection product degrades in soil (microbial degradation) to a level that does not pose a threat to succeeding crops.

If it is necessary to destroy a treated crop at a dose of 0.5 l/ha due to frost, pests or diseases, after 4 weeks from application and after ploughing the field, winter cereals can be grown. In spring, regardless of soil cultivation method, spring cereals (spring wheat, spring barley), maize, sunflower, and potatoes can be grown.

Elipris Corteva herbicide - pre-harvest interval:

Pre-harvest interval - the period from application until the day when people may enter the treated area and animals may be introduced:

  • Do not enter until the spray liquid has completely dried on the plant surfaces.
