When to apply?

Conifers

The Garden 2001 fertiliser for Conifers should be applied in a total dose of 40 – 60 g/m2, twice during the season, i.e. early spring (1/2 dose) before the start of the growing season (in March or April) and in summer, spreading the fertiliser in a radius slightly larger than the crown diameter. Plants grown in any type of pots should be fed using 5 – 7 g of fertiliser per medium-sized conifer (3 – 5 l container). Most conifers respond very well to mulching. Usually, the area around the plant is mulched with a several-centimetre layer of composted conifer bark, sawdust, brown coal, less often gravel. This treatment limits weed growth near the plant, reduces water evaporation, and improves soil structure. It also protects roots from frost damage.

Application timing: twice a year - in spring and summer.
