Conditions for growing and caring for vegetables:

Even the most beautiful home gardens, full of blooming flowers and shrubs, need something practical that combines pleasure with utility. The idea of a vegetable garden will provide us with healthy vegetables and fruits that we will use throughout the year as an addition to daily meals. Knowing our culinary preferences, we can select vegetables that will delight with their appearance from emergence until harvest.

When planning a home garden, it is important to remember that plants benefit each other when planted close together, but there are also those that do not like their neighbours. Vegetables repel unwanted pests and attract insects that contribute to the pollination of neighbouring plants.

When planting vegetables, it is worth following these rules:

Do not plant:

- beans near onions, garlic, beets, cabbage, as it inhibits their growth,

- peas near chives, onions and garlic, as they negatively affect their vitality,

- cucumbers near tomatoes,

- cauliflower, cabbage, kohlrabi near tomato, carrot, runner bean and radish,

- basil next to marjoram,

- lettuce next to parsley.

Proper care and regular fertilisation of vegetables should be carried out using mineral compound fertilisers containing micro and macronutrients. Vegetables need fertilisation throughout the growing season; to ensure optimal effect, different types of fertilisers should be used alternately.

Watering should be done in the morning or evening when there is no sun and the temperature drops. The best method is thorough watering, which delivers water to the deepest soil layers. When watering vegetables, try to avoid wetting the leaves. Wet leaves promote the development of fungal diseases.

The soil for vegetable plants should be fertile, humus-rich and permeable. The pH of the soil should be neutral or slightly acidic, ranging from 6 to 7.

Natural vegetable garden protection:

A good method is sowing herbs between beds. Onion and garlic have bactericidal properties, while marjoram, savory and coriander repel pests.

Granulated fertiliser for vegetables and herbs Twój Ogród - usage tips:

  • Fertilisers should be used in a balanced way, and fertilisation should be based on the plant's needs and the growing medium's fertility. Also, prevent fertiliser from reaching surfaces not intended for fertilisation.
  • Store fertiliser in closed, original packaging, in dry rooms, away from food and feed, in places inaccessible to children.
  • During storage and transport, protect from heat, direct sunlight, moisture and mechanical damage to packaging.
  • Under the above storage conditions, the shelf life is indefinite.
