Kompostarter is an ecological waste-disposing agent (involving microorganisms), designed to activate and accelerate the composting of organic waste from home and garden. It contains natural substances, provides ingredients essential for the health and life of bacteria. It optimises the carbon to nitrogen ratio. It activates microorganisms.
The preparation is most effective in materials with a high nitrogen content, such as: grass, food waste, young branches and weeds, green parts of plants, e.g. legumes.
The resulting organic fertiliser is a rich source of humic acids and a natural pesticide. It improves soil properties, is rich in potassium. It is an alternative to chemical fertilisation.
What to compost and what not to compost?
Suitable for composting:
- mown grass,
- weeds without seeds,
- fallen leaves,
- chopped branches,
- fireplace ash,
- vegetable and fruit peelings (but not citrus – their skins are soaked with chemical preservatives),
- coffee and tea grounds.
Not suitable for composting:
- plant parts damaged by diseases and pests,
- plant shoots with spots, discolourations or galls,
- oak leaves,
- coloured paper,
- salted and greasy table scraps.
Why are they unsuitable? Because they slow down the decomposition process.
What is the composition of Kompostarter Twój Ogród?

Weigh the powder amount and dissolve it in lukewarm, settled water, mix well. Use this solution to water the compost heap over as large a surface as possible. Recommended concentration 0.2% (20g per 10 l of water). Maintain moisture at 50–60%. During heavy rainfall, when the heap moisture is high, apply in powder form. A jar with holes in the lid can be used for this purpose. The heap should be turned to mix its contents and aerate it. Air access (oxygen) is crucial for the speed of the composting process. |
During the intensive composting period. Months March–October. Use once every 4–5 weeks. |
