Racumin Foam 500ml (kumatetralyl, bitrex) Envu - foam for rats and mice
Racumin Foam 500ml Envu is a ready-to-use bait in foam form, used for the control of house mice and brown rats indoors. The foam sticks to the fur of rodents, which ingest the active substance while grooming.
Description
Racumin Foam 500ml Envu - foam for mice and rats
- Product ready to use - in a convenient foam form.
- For supplementary use in the control of house mice and brown rats.
- Application: indoors.
Racumin Foam is a ready-to-use bait in foam form. Used to support the control of rodents (mice and rats) in enclosed spaces. Racumin Foam is beneficial to use alongside standard baits - it is a product supporting the deratisation process.
The foam does not mould and can additionally act on rodents that do not accept standard products such as granules, grain, pastes, and wax blocks.
Racumin Foam rodenticide - mode of action:
Racumin Foam is a product for controlling mice and rats. It is presented in a foam form with contact action. The foam sticks to the rodent’s fur as it passes through holes and gaps. The rodent grooms intensively, ingesting the active substance in this way.
Due to the mode of action of substances belonging to the anticoagulant group, the effects of rodenticidal products containing them can be observed 4-10 days after bait consumption.
Racumin Foam Envu - composition:
- Kumatetralyl (coumarin) - 4-hydroxy-3-(1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl) coumarin 4.062 g/kg - a compound from the group of first-generation synthetic anticoagulants, multi-dose substance.
- Bitrex - a bitter-tasting substance preventing accidental ingestion.
- Colourant.
- Ethoxylated isotridecanol CAS no: 69011-36-5.
Racumin Foam - targeted rodents:
- Brown rat (Rattus norvegicus),
- House mouse (Mus musculus).
Where to apply Racumin Foam?
Racumin Foam should be applied in places inaccessible to children, birds, pets, farm animals, and non-target animals. The product is applied indoors, in locations such as:
- closed cable lines or pipelines, enclosures e.g.
- around electrical boxes or high-voltage boxes,
- wall recesses and wall claddings,
- entrances to rat/mouse burrows,
- wall openings,
- narrow passages,
- suspended ceilings,
- insulating walls,
- service ducts,
- installation shafts,
- cross beams of structures.
Instructions for applying Racumin Foam Envu:
1. Conduct preliminary site assessment where rodents occur to properly identify the rodent species, activity locations, and determine the probable cause and degree of infestation.
2. Do not disturb the rodents’ habitat as it may affect their behaviour and bait consumption.
3. Before starting treatment, remove potential food sources for rodents (e.g. spilled grain or food residues).
4. Apply the product using the nozzle directly into holes and gaps located indoors.
5. Dosing 10 g of product takes about 4 seconds.
6. The hole should not be completely filled with foam so rodents can recognise their usual routes and passages. Otherwise, if the hole is fully filled with foam, rodents may choose other unsecured passages.
7. Two applications are recommended during one control cycle.
8. The product should be placed in the immediate vicinity of areas where rodent activity has been observed (e.g. paths, nesting sites, feeding areas for farm animals, holes, burrows, etc.).
9. The foam is water-based - do not use on unprotected electrical contacts. Cable insulation may be damaged by rodents. Ignoring this warning risks electric shock.
10. When placing the product near water drainage systems, ensure the bait does not come into contact with water.
11. After completing deratisation, remove product residues using paper towels.
12. After using the product, wash hands and skin exposed to direct contact.
13. Regularly inspect points where foam was applied. Reapplication should generally occur after 14 days.
Racumin Foam Envu - usage tips:
- Wear protective goggles during use.
- The product should be used according to the principles described in integrated pest management (IPM) guidelines, good hygiene practices, and, where possible, using non-chemical control methods.
- Public places where the product is used should be properly marked. Near bait placement points, information should be displayed that contact with the product or dead rodents is hazardous to health and instructions for first aid in case of poisoning.
- The number of bait placement points depends on the structure of the room or building.
- Apply the product away from food, drinks, and animal feed, as well as away from kitchen utensils and surfaces that come into contact with the product.
- Wear appropriate chemical-resistant protective gloves during application (made of nitrile rubber, compliant with EN374 standard).
- Eye protection must be worn during application.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
- Regularly inspect baited areas according to IPM guidelines. The frequency of inspections is at the user’s discretion based on the pre-treatment assessment of the deratisation area.
- If rodent activity persists 35 days after starting control, determine the cause of treatment failure. If resistance to kumatetralyl is confirmed or suspected, use a product containing a different active substance from the rodenticide group. Consider non-chemical control methods (e.g. traps).
- If possible, inform third parties (e.g. users of the rodent control area and nearby surroundings) about the start of deratisation according to IPM guidelines.
- Do not use the product if resistance to kumatetralyl is confirmed or suspected in the area.
- Do not use the product for more than 35 days without prior assessment of infestation level and control effectiveness.
- The product is not intended for combined use or mixing with other products containing anticoagulants with similar or higher resistance potential.
- If combined use or mixing with other rodenticides is necessary, consider using a rodenticide that does not contain an anticoagulant active substance or contains one with lower resistance potential.
- Do not wash materials in contact with the product with water during treatment.
- Dispose of dead rodents safely and hand them over to authorised companies for hazardous waste recovery and disposal (e.g. incinerators). Do not mix with municipal waste streams. (This information should also appear on the packaging label).
- Do not use the product in pulse treatments or continuous baiting (e.g. to prevent rodent infestation or detect activity).
- The product in contact form may only be used in exceptional circumstances, i.e. if baits in bait stations or bait points and non-chemical rodent control methods have proven ineffective.
- Areas in buildings where the product has been applied must be secured to prevent access by children, birds, pets, farm animals, and non-target animals.
- To avoid contamination of food and animal feed during use, maintain a distance of at least 2 m from places where food and animal feed are stored, prepared, and consumed.
- The product must not be used for the protection of plants and plant products.
- Keep records of population control inspections.
- Rodents can transmit diseases. Remove dead rodents and bait using protective gloves or tools such as tongs.
Biocidal product must be used with particular caution. Before use, read the label and safety data sheet carefully.
