Description

Spodnam DC - universal adjuvant and sticker in one

What are the benefits of using Spodnam DC adjuvant?

  • Improves spray liquid properties,
  • For use in all crops,
  • Reduces drift, wets and increases adhesion of products,
  • In a convenient concentrate form,
  • Increases rainfastness,
  • Universal preparation.

Spodnam DC is a plant protection product, specifically an adjuvant. It improves spray liquid properties, reduces drift, wets and increases adhesion of products, and also increases rainfastness. The preparation is available in a suspension concentrate form for dilution with water (DC). It is intended for use with ground and aerial sprayers.

How does Spodnam DC by Nufarm work?

Spodnam DC is based on natural plant gums. It forms a thin, flexible film on plants that limits water penetration into maturing plant parts while allowing natural drying to continue. It evens out ripening, prevents pod cracking and seed shattering of oilseed rape and peas during harvest, reducing yield losses. It prevents pre-harvest sprouting of cereals in ears during rainy weather. After 30-60 minutes from spraying, the product polymerises and the film achieves full rainfastness. As treated pods, pods and leaves grow, the flexible film stretches easily and remains on the plant.

What is the composition of Spodnam SC by Nufarm?

Composition:

  • Di-1-P-mentene (a compound from the terpene polymer group) - 555 g/l.

For which crops can Spodnam DC adjuvant be used?

  • Winter and spring oilseed rape,
  • Peas for dry seeds,
  • Spring and winter cereals,
  • Potato,
  • And various other crops.

What are the pre-harvest interval and withholding period when using Spodnam DC adjuvant?

Pre-harvest interval, i.e. the period from application until people and animals can enter the treated area (period preventing poisoning):

  • Not applicable.

Withholding period, i.e. the period from the last treatment to harvest and consumption:

  • Not applicable.

How to prepare spray liquid with Spodnam adjuvant?

Shake and mix the contents of the package thoroughly before use. When used together with plant protection products, always add Spodnam DC as the last component of the tank mix and follow all recommendations and contraindications applicable to the other mixture components. Fill the tank with water to about half the required volume and prepare the appropriate solution of the plant protection product according to its instructions. Then pour the measured amount of Spodnam DC and top up the tank to the required volume while gently mixing. Do not add any other adjuvants, wetting agents, oil products or similar. After pouring into a sprayer tank without hydraulic agitation, mix the liquid mechanically. Rinse empty containers three times with water and pour the rinsate into the sprayer tank with the spray liquid. After work, wash the equipment thoroughly.

What are the recommendations when using Spodnam spray liquid (adjuvant)?

  • Do not use the product in the immediate protection zone of water intakes or in spa areas, buffer zones of national parks and reserves.
  • Do not contaminate water with the product or its packaging.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
  • Do not inhale the sprayed spray liquid.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and suitable protective gloves.
  • In case of accident or feeling unwell, seek medical advice immediately (if possible, show the label).
  • Dilute any leftover spray liquid with water and spray on previously treated surfaces. Spray the water used for equipment cleaning on previously treated surfaces, using the same personal protective measures.
  • Store locked and out of reach of children.
  • Do not store together with food, beverages or animal feed.
  • Store only in the original packaging at temperatures not exceeding 0-30°C.

How to apply? Dosage

Winter and spring oilseed rape

Prevention of pod cracking and seed shattering during harvest.

1. Two-stage oilseed rape harvest – at one of the selected timings:
First timing: 2-3 weeks before swathing, when pods change colour to
light green, are flexible, and when bent into a V shape slightly crack without ejecting
seeds. Delay swathing by 5-7 days from the traditional timing.
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC - 0.6 l/ha.
Second timing: 24 hours after swathing.
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC - 0.75 l/ha
2. One-stage oilseed rape harvest
- without desiccation when most pods are greenish-yellow, pods are
flexible, and when bent into a V shape slightly crack without ejecting seeds
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC - 1.2 l/ha.
Recommended water volume 300-500 l/ha
- together with desiccation, when pods are still flexible, and when bent into a V shape
slightly crack with some seeds falling out. Desiccation should be delayed by 7
days from the traditional timing.
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC - 0.6 l/ha.
Recommended water volume 150-300 l/ha

Peas for dry seeds

Accelerates and evens ripening. Prevents pod cracking and seed shattering during harvest.

Apply when most pods have lost intense green colour and
begin to yellow.
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC - 1 l/ha.
Recommended water volume 200-400 l/ha

Spring and winter cereals

Prevents grain sprouting in ears and improves grain quality in adverse weather conditions.

Treatment should be carried out from soft dough to hard dough maturity (BBCH 85-86).
Recommended dose: Spodnam DC – 0.3-0.4 l/ha.
Recommended water volume 200-400 l/ha

Potato

Addition to fungicides. Improves leaf coverage with spray liquid, reduces wash-off
of products by rain and heavy dew.

Recommended dose: Spodnam DC – 0.3-0.4 l/ha.
Recommended water volume 200-400 l/ha

Various crops

Addition to plant protection products. Reduces surface tension of spray liquid,
improves uniformity of coverage of sprayed surfaces, improves rainfastness, reduces drift of spray liquid.

Recommended dose: Spodnam DC – 0.125-0.25% in 100-1000 l water
NOTES:
1. When performing treatments with ground equipment, sprayer pressure should
be at least 0.3 MPa.
2. To prevent oilseed rape seed shattering, thorough coverage of pods with spray liquid is important. Adjust spray liquid volume to crop size and density.
