Carrot Flakkese 2 is a very high-yielding, mid-late variety with strong and healthy tops. At a density of about 800,000 seeds per hectare, it produces large, uniform roots that are an attractive raw material for further processing, including dicing.
The roots reach a length of 20–24 cm, are almost cylindrical, slightly conical and blunt-ended. Their surface is exceptionally smooth and shiny, and the intense orange-red colouration covers both the cortex and the core. The variety does not tend to form a green shoulder.
Flakkese 2 is resistant to alternaria leaf spot and can be used both for direct market supply and for storage and processing. An additional advantage is the attractive seed price, which increases the profitability of cultivation.
