Description

Jura Max – effective protection against weed infestation in winter cereals and potato

Jura Max is a selective herbicide designed for the control of weeds in winter cereal crops and potato. Thanks to the combination of two active substances with different modes of action, it helps reduce weed competition for water, light, and nutrients already at the early stages of crop development.

Two modes of action – broad spectrum of controlled weeds

Prosulfocarb – an active substance from the HRAC 15 group, blocking the synthesis of long-chain fatty acids. It acts mainly on weeds during germination, limiting their emergence and proper development of young seedlings.

Diflufenican – an active substance from the HRAC 12 group, inhibiting carotenoid biosynthesis. It causes bleaching of weed tissues and their death. It remains on the soil surface, affecting emerging weeds; it can provide protection for up to 8 weeks after treatment.

The combination of both active substances allows control of both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds.

Application at different timings

In winter cereals, Jura Max can be applied post-sowing, before crop emergence, or post-emergence – from the first leaf stage to the beginning of tillering. In potato, the product is applied during germination, before crop emergence.

The product controls, among others, monocotyledonous weeds such as blackgrass and annual meadow-grass in winter cereals, as well as dicotyledonous weeds including cleavers, common chickweed, corn poppy, and speedwells. In potato, it controls, among others, field pansy, rough cat's ear, bindweed knotweed, and field pennycress. Effectiveness depends on the weed species and application timing.

Minor crop uses

Jura Max is also intended for use in winter durum wheat and common sunflower.

  • Winter durum wheat – post-sowing, before emergence (BBCH 01–09), at a dose of 3.0 l/ha or foliar application from the first leaf stage to the beginning of tillering (BBCH 10–21), at a dose of 3.2 l/ha.
  • Common sunflower – during germination, before emergence (BBCH 00–09), at a dose of 3.2 l/ha.

For both minor uses, the recommended water volume is 200–300 l/ha, and the maximum number of treatments per growing season is one. In minor uses, the user is responsible for the efficacy and phytotoxicity of the product. Jura Max is a solution supporting weed control early in the season, with the possibility to adjust the treatment timing to the crop and plant development stage.
