K-Obiol Max is an insecticide for protecting grain against the most common flying and crawling stored product pests: granary weevil, confused flour beetle, lesser grain borer, sawtoothed grain beetle, Angoumois grain moth. It protects grain against both larvae and adults found on the surface of plant-origin products. The product is also used for disinsection of storage rooms. It is available as a concentrate for preparing an aqueous emulsion.
K-Obiol MAX can be applied using equipment designed for spraying cereal grain on conveyor belts and in storage facilities, as well as handheld sprayers.
Action of K-Obiol Max insecticide for stored product pests:
K-Obiol Max insecticide has contact and stomach action. Deltamethrin, contained in K-Obiol Max, quickly paralyzes the insect's nervous system, producing a rapid knockdown effect (paralysis, the feeding insect on the plant is incapacitated - nervous system damage occurs).
K-Obiol Max insecticide - active substance content:
- deltamethrin (a pyrethroid compound) - 25 g/l (2.66%),
- IIRAC 3A.
Hazardous substances other than the active substance:
- Piperonyl butoxide, solvent naphtha (petroleum), light aromatic hydrocarbons.
MRL established for grain: 1 ppm. Deltamethrin residue on grain is 4 to 8 times lower than the MRL.
K-Obiol Max - controlled stored product pests:
Stored product pests - crawling insects (adults and larvae):
- granary weevil (sitophilus granarius),
- confused flour beetle (tribolium confusum),
- lesser grain borer (rhyzopertha dominica),
- sawtoothed grain beetle (oryzaephilus surinamensis),
- bean weevil (acanthoscelides obtectus).
Stored product pests - flying insects (adults and larvae):
- Angoumois grain moth (sitotroga cerealella).
K-Obiol Max - application:
K-Obiol Max may be used in grain silos and storage facilities subsequently used for storing oilseed plants (e.g. oilseed rape). The product is not authorised for use as an additional component in treatments on oilseed plants (e.g. oilseed rape).
K-Obiol Max Envu - pre-harvest interval and re-entry period, crop rotation:
Re-entry period - the time from application until people may enter the treated area and animals may be introduced:
- Entry to treated surfaces/crops on the day of application is only permitted with the use of individual protective measures specified for this product.
- Subsequent work on/in treated surfaces/crops may only be carried out after 24 hours from the time of application.
- During these activities, protective clothing protecting against plant protection products and universal protective gloves (for plant protection products) must be worn for the first 48 hours.
- After the product's action period and before people enter treated rooms, these rooms must be thoroughly ventilated.
Pre-harvest interval and feed pre-harvest interval - the time from the last application on plants/plant products until they are intended for consumption:
- Not applicable.
Time from last application on plants until sowing or planting of succeeding crops:
- Not applicable.
K-Obiol Max insecticide - preparation of spray liquid:
Before preparing the spray liquid, accurately determine the required amount. The amount of water needed depends on the sprayer output and the quantity of grain transported on the conveyor per unit time. Pour the measured amount of product into the sprayer tank partially filled with water with the agitator on, then fill with water to the required volume. If the sprayer tank lacks a hydraulic agitator, mechanically mix the liquid in the tank after pouring in the product. Rinse empty containers three times with water and pour the rinsate into the sprayer tank. Spray with the agitator on. After use, thoroughly clean the equipment.
