KINGA PARSLEY - VARIETY FEATURES:
purpose: bunch harvest, fresh market, processing, long storage
vegetation period: 160-180 days (mid-late variety)
Kinga is a high-yielding, mid-late root parsley variety of the Berlin type, valued by producers for its stability and very high share of marketable yield. The plant produces roots with a conical elongated shape, reaching medium to large length. Their characteristic feature is the white, exceptionally smooth skin, which gives the roots an aesthetic appearance and facilitates their cleaning. Both the cortex and the central cylinder have a uniform white or white-cream colour.
The Kinga variety is extremely versatile – due to the rapid root growth in early stages, it can be successfully grown for early bunch harvest. For main harvest cultivation, it requires sunny locations and fertile, deeply loosened, and optimally moist soils. This parsley tolerates long-term storage very well, maintaining high consumption quality even until the end of April.
The recommended spacing is rows every 50 cm with 20-centimetre spacing between plants.
