Metarex M 2.5 RB is a granulated molluscicide bait ready for use, more attractive for slugs to consume than plants. It is intended for the control of slugs in crops of potato, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, rutabaga, lettuce, spinach, and leaf celery. The product was developed in the laboratories of the French company Liphatech. Scientists spent many years searching for the best slug-attracting substances. The result of this research is the ColzActif technology, containing oilseed rape extracts which, as research showed, are the favourite food of these pests.

The product is intended for use with applicators for granulated plant protection products or manually.

Metarex Twój Ogród slug control product - enhanced safety formulation:

The formulation contains 2 substances improving its safety of use:

• A repellent deterring dogs and cats. Its small amount causes these animals to lose interest in the granules.
• Bitter Bitrex, which prevents accidental ingestion of the product by children.

Both substances significantly reduce the risk of accidental poisoning.

Metarex Twój Ogród molluscicide - mode of action:

Metarex Twój Ogród acts both stomachically and by contact. This means the substance contained in Metarex is eaten by slugs and destroys them internally, but also shows its effect upon contact when the slug touches the granule. The product attracts slugs causing them to consume a lethal dose, after which they become immobilised and then die. Following ingestion, slugs become numb and eventually die due to dehydration.

Re-entry period - time from application until people can enter the treated area and animals can be introduced:

• Potato – 7 days,
• Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, rutabaga, lettuce, spinach, leaf celery – not applicable.

Pre-harvest interval for fodder - time from last application on plants intended for fodder until animals can be fed with these plants:

• Not applicable.

Time from last application until sowing or planting of succeeding crops:

• Not applicable.

Metarex Twój Ogród slug control product - usage instructions:

• Toxic to domestic animals. Protect pets from contact with the product. Very dangerous for dogs and other pets. In case of suspected ingestion by animals: contact a veterinarian immediately. Sweep up and remove any spilled granules immediately.
• A repeat treatment may be necessary, especially if granules have been eaten by pests or new pests appear.
• To prevent resistance development, alternate use with products from other chemical groups.
• Do not expect sufficient control of the Spanish slug (Arion vulgaris (synonym Arion lusitanicus)) in every case.
• In case of heavy slug infestation, repeat treatments are recommended.
• Do not apply in piles or heaps.
• Do not exceed recommended doses.
• Distribute granules evenly over the protected area.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Store plant protection products:
  − in places or facilities with appropriate measures to prevent environmental contamination and access by unauthorized persons,
  − in original packaging, preventing contact with food, drinks or fodder,
  − at temperatures between 0°C and 30°C.
