Description
Quelex Complex Pak combined with Naceto - herbicide for winter and spring cereals
What are the benefits of using the Quelex Complex and Naceto plant protection product set for weed control?
- Effectively controls unwanted weeds including resistant blackgrass,
- Only one treatment is needed to enjoy a weed-free field,
- Very fast action - results visible within a few hours,
- Does not threaten subsequent crops,
- Convenience - both Quelex and Naceto are available as concentrates.
Quelex Complex and Naceto Pak are plant protection products manufactured by Corteva from the herbicide group.
Both Quelex and Naceto are selective herbicides.
Quelex has systemic action and is applied foliar. It is available in granule form for preparing a water suspension (WG).
Naceto is applied soil or foliar and is available as a concentrate in the form of a concentrated suspension for dilution with water (SC).
The combination of these products effectively controls both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds.
What is the content of active substances in the Quelex herbicide?
- Florasulam (a compound from the triazolopyrimidine group) - 100 g/kg (10%),
- Halauxifen methyl – Arylex™ (a compound from the aryloxyphenoxy group) – 104.2 g/kg
(10.4%), - Hazardous substances not classified as active substances: cloxyquintocet.
What is the content of active substances in the Naceto herbicide?
- Diflufenican (a compound from the phenoxynicotinoanilide group) – 200 g/l (16.26%),
- Flufenacet (a compound from the oxyacetamide group) – 400 g/l (32.52%).
How does the Quelex herbicide work on winter and spring cereals?
The product is absorbed through cotyledons and leaves. It then quickly moves throughout the plant. It contains two active substances with different modes of action. This complementary effect increases the herbicide's efficacy.
The active substance halauxifen methyl belongs to the aryloxyphenoxy group and is classified as a growth regulator (also known as synthetic auxins). Florasulam is an active substance from the triazolopyrimidine group belonging to the acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor group. In the plant, halauxifen methyl disrupts cell division, while florasulam inhibits branched-chain amino acid synthesis, leading to disturbances in protein biosynthesis.
How does the Naceto herbicide work?
The product contains two complementary biologically active substances with different modes of action.
The active substance diflufenican is a contact herbicide (with limited translocation within the plant), classified as an inhibitor of carotenoid biosynthesis in weed cells. The lack of these structures causes leaf tissue bleaching and cell breakdown, especially visible in new tissues.
After application, diflufenican remains on the soil surface for an extended period, forming a thin layer that acts contact-wise on emerging young, actively growing weeds. Diflufenican provides protection for up to 8 weeks after application.
The active substance flufenacet is a systemic herbicide classified as a long-chain fatty acid synthesis inhibitor. It is mainly absorbed through roots and the area below the cotyledons of germinating weeds.
Diflufenican and flufenacet remain active in the soil for many weeks after treatment, maintaining high herbicidal efficacy also in later periods.
How do weeds behave after applying Quelex?
After treatment, sensitive weeds stop growing, followed by leaf and stem deformities and chlorosis leading to necrosis and weed death. The fastest herbicidal effect is achieved when applied to weeds in early growth stages during active growth. Visual symptoms appear within a few days to several weeks after treatment, depending on the weed species. Very sensitive weeds, e.g., cleavers and red dead-nettle, are controlled even in advanced growth stages.
What is the sensitivity of weeds to the Quelex herbicide?
Weed sensitivity to the product applied in autumn, mixed with an adjuvant, from one leaf stage to the end of tillering in winter cereals (BBCH 11-29) - dose 37.5 g + adjuvant:
- Sensitive weeds: chickweed, cleavers, volunteer oilseed rape,
- Resistant weeds: field violet.
Weed sensitivity to the product applied in spring, mixed with an adjuvant, from the beginning of tillering to the second node stage in winter cereals (BBCH 21-32) - dose 50 g + adjuvant:
- Sensitive weeds: cornflower, fumitory, chickweed, red dead-nettle, pink dead-nettle, corn poppy, scentless mayweed, field forget-me-not, field larkspur, cleavers, scentless chamomile, common chamomile, volunteer oilseed rape, shepherd's purse, common shepherd's purse, field pennycress,
- Resistant weeds: field violet, Persian speedwell, ivy-leaved speedwell.
Weed sensitivity to the product applied mixed with an adjuvant from the beginning of tillering to the second node stage in spring cereals (BBCH 21-32) - dose 50 g + adjuvant:
- Sensitive weeds: fumitory, red dead-nettle, common lambsquarters, scentless mayweed, cleavers, field bindweed, field pennycress.
How to apply the Quelex herbicide?
The product can be applied within a wide air temperature range (from 2 to 25°C), at low or high air humidity. Prolonged drought may reduce herbicidal efficacy. Rainfall occurring 30 minutes after treatment does not reduce efficacy.
The product should be applied together with the recommended adjuvant (a supporting agent), which promotes better uptake and thus increases herbicidal effectiveness. The adjuvant should also be used under unfavourable conditions for herbicide action, i.e., during drought, low temperatures, low air humidity, and on weeds in late growth stages.
The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.
Detailed information on dosage and application of the Quelex plant protection product can be found in the "Dosage" section and in the plant protection product label attached in the downloadable files.
How to apply the Naceto herbicide?
Optimal soil moisture favours high product efficacy.
The best herbicidal effect is achieved by applying the product in early weed growth stages, during germination or shortly after emergence, at the seedling stage.
The product is for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.
Detailed information on dosage and application of the Naceto plant protection product can be found in the "Dosage" section and in the plant protection product label attached in the downloadable files.
In which crops can the Quelex and Naceto Pak be used?
- Winter and spring wheat,
- Winter and spring triticale,
- Winter and spring rye,
- Winter and spring barley.
What is the pre-harvest interval when using Quelex and Naceto Pak in winter and spring cereals?
The pre-harvest interval, i.e., the period from the last application to the day of crop harvest, does not apply to either Quelex or Naceto.
Can Naceto be used on weeds without risk to subsequent crops?
The product does not pose a threat to subsequent crops. If it is necessary to destroy a treated crop earlier due to frost, pests, or diseases, after 3 months and ploughing the field, spring wheat, spring barley, potatoes, and maize can be grown.
What are the recommendations when using spray liquid prepared with Quelex?
