Royal Dark Green Lawn Twój Ogród is a grass seed mix from the Twój Ogród collection. The collections consist of specially selected grass species adapted to Polish climatic conditions. Each mix is composed to provide maximum effect depending on its intended use.

Royal Dark Green Lawn Twój Ogród seeds are intended for home and residential areas, as well as gardens. It tolerates heavy foot traffic and harsh weather conditions well. The mix does not require intensive fertilisation or irrigation. The grass seeds used in the mix are carefully selected for local conditions, tolerating frost and short drought periods. The turf thickens intensively, creating poor conditions for the growth of unwanted weeds.

Royal Dark Green Lawn Twój Ogród seeds coated with Rosahumus (RQ+ technology):

RQ+ technology involves fully coating the seeds with Rosahumus fertiliser. Thanks to this, unlike standard untreated seeds, grass germination is accelerated. Rosahumus enhances the processes occurring in the seeds immediately after sowing and long after they have germinated.

Rosahumus is a specialised fertiliser rich in humic acids, potassium and iron; its addition causes accelerated, uniform start and growth, resulting in a beautifully coloured, lush green dense lawn. It is a gentle, particularly bioactive fertiliser, and its presence on the seeds ensures the grass is nourished gently from the very start, without shock.

RQ+ technology, by coating seeds with the specialised Rosahumus fertiliser, delivers humic acids at the germination site, which are the basic components of humus, and its content determines soil fertility. Humus compounds can store 4 to 12 times more nutrients than the mineral part of the soil. They have a high water retention capacity, able to hold up to five times their weight in water, in a form available to plants.

Composition of Royal grass seeds with Rosahumus:

  • Red fescue 30%.
  • Perennial ryegrass 60%,
  • Meadow fescue 10%,
  • + Rosahumus 16 grams /1kg of seeds.

Recommended period for establishing a lawn with Royal Dark Green Lawn Twój Ogród seeds:

Establishing a lawn from Royal Dark Green Lawn Twój Ogród seed mix:

By following the described guidelines, you will ensure full success and satisfaction with your lawn.

1. Clear the area of stones, leaves, sticks, plants and any debris. The soil pH for grasses should be between 5.5 and 7.0. If the soil is acidic, apply granulated lime "Twój Ogród" to raise the soil pH.
IMPORTANT! If you plan to install underground irrigation, electrical systems or drainage, do it at this stage.

2. Dig the soil to spade depth, turning it thoroughly; if the soil is poor, spread a layer of compost before digging. Level and shape the area, which should be flat; a 1-3% slope is acceptable to facilitate surface water runoff.
IMPORTANT! Finish the lawn edges now, as it is easiest to place them in the soil at this stage.

3. Level the area with a rake. The lawn seedbed should have no holes or bumps that would hinder later mowing. Firm the soil by repeated treading or rolling the surface. Remove visible weeds.
IMPORTANT! If you plan to sow grass earlier than the sowing day, eliminate weeds chemically using the Koniczynka preparation from the "YOUR garden" brand.

4. Just before sowing, lightly loosen the growing medium with a rake, avoiding creating unevenness. This creates better conditions for seed sowing. Sow the grass seeds on the prepared growing medium (mix seeds well for a uniform blend), perform the operation in calm weather. After sowing, cover the seeds with a 1 cm layer of native soil or the ready-to-use universal growing medium "YOUR garden" RUP! Press or roll the covered seeds.
IMPORTANT! The best results come from specialised mixes intended for specific areas and planned use.

5. Water the freshly sown grass seeds carefully to avoid washing them away. Initially, water the area lightly several times a day, avoiding prolonged waterlogging.
IMPORTANT! Maintain moisture in the upper layer of the growing medium continuously. The species in the mix have varying germination times from 7 to 28 days.

6. Perform the first mowing when the blades reach 8-12 cm in height. Mow to a height of 5-6 cm.
IMPORTANT! Make the first mowings gently, using sharp mower blades to avoid pulling out young, weakly rooted plants.

Lawn mowing depending on air temperature:

  • when the temperature is up to 25°C, mow the lawn to 4cm height,
  • when the temperature is between 25-30°C, mow the lawn to 6cm height,
  • when the temperature exceeds 30°C, do not mow the lawn.

Conditions affecting grass colouring:

The lawn should be established on soil with pH 5.5-6.5. Too low pH below 5.5 hinders grass nutrient uptake, tillering and root system development, which affects the appearance and condition of the turf. If the soil is too acidic, the lawn loses its intense colour and begins to yellow, grows poorly and becomes sparse.

Fertilisation affects grass colour. Regular feeding with appropriate fertiliser promotes intense colouring. Water quality, its source and biochemical composition also influence colour.
