Description

FEATURES OF THE DILL LUKULLUS VARIETY:

Dill Lukullus is a valued, early variety with exceptional market qualities, characterised by a dark green colour and small, delicate leaves. The plants exhibit strong growth, reaching heights of 90 to 110 cm, and thanks to vigorous branching and late flowering (delayed bolting to flower shoots), they guarantee a long-lasting and very high yield of green mass. What distinguishes the Lukullus variety is its outstanding aromatic profile, resulting from a high content of essential oils (0.33 mg% in fresh mass and 0.10 mg% in dry mass), making it a desirable raw material on the fresh market and in processing.

This variety shows high tolerance to fungal diseases, which significantly facilitates crop management and minimises the risk of losses. Dill Lukullus offers growers great flexibility – it is perfectly suited for field cultivation as well as for forcing in polytunnels in early spring or for extended harvesting in autumn. Thanks to its short growing period, it is possible to successively sow seeds every 30 days, allowing for continuous supply of top-quality fresh dill throughout the season.

Advantages of choosing Dill Lukullus seeds:

  • Maximising yield: Strong branching and late flowering allow harvesting an impressive amount of high-quality green mass.
  • Outstanding aroma and flavour: Very high essential oil content increases the commercial value of dill, making it ideal for drying and freezing.
  • Versatility of cultivation: The possibility of sowing in open ground, polytunnels, as well as winter sowing, provides great production flexibility.
  • Crop safety: Innate tolerance to fungal diseases facilitates cultivation and ensures a healthy, visually attractive final product.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Dill Lukullus:

What is the best use for the Dill Lukullus variety?

Dill Lukullus is an extremely versatile variety. Thanks to its high essential oil content and delayed flowering, it is perfect for fresh consumption (green), as well as an ideal raw material for drying, deep freezing and pickling in the processing industry.

When and how should Dill Lukullus be sown to maintain continuous harvests?

Seeds are best sown directly into the ground from March. Dill germinates perfectly at 10°C and has a very short growing period (45-50 days). To extend the harvest period until autumn, it is recommended to sow seeds successively every approximately 30 days. The variety can also be successfully grown under cover (polytunnels).
