Description
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MAIZE VARIETY P8271:
P8271 is a mid-early single hybrid (SC) with FAO Z 240, which is an excellent solution for grain cultivation in its maturity group. The variety stands out with a proven, very high yield potential. The plants are characterised by very good initial vigour, which ensures a rapid start of vegetation and minimises the risk of losses in the early development stages. P8271 also shows high tolerance to water deficiency, making it a reliable choice for areas prone to drought. Thanks to strong and healthy stalks and rapidly maturing grain, the variety ensures efficient harvesting with high lodging resistance. Furthermore, P8271 features increased tolerance to key diseases, including fusarium and helminthosporium turcicum, which translates into high quality and yield stability.
Advantages of choosing P8271 maize seeds:
- Excellent grain yield: A high-yielding variety in the mid-early FAO 240 group.
- High drought tolerance: Ability to produce effectively even under limited water availability.
- Excellent plant health: Stalks and leaves with high tolerance to fusarium, common smut, and helminthosporium turcicum.
- Harvest reliability: High lodging resistance and strong, healthy stalks minimise losses during field operations.
- Rapid grain drying: Grain close to dent type, which matures quickly, resulting in lower drying costs.
P8271 PARAMETERS AND PURPOSE:

Grain type: close to dent.
Hybrid type: single (SC).
Usage: grain.
AGRONOMIC PRACTICES AND CULTIVATION RECOMMENDATIONS:
Agronomic profile of P8271:
The P8271 hybrid is characterised by medium-high plants with strong and very healthy stalks. The ears are positioned high, which favours efficient and rapid harvesting. The grain, dent type-like, ensures quick physiological maturity and low moisture content. The very good initial growth of the variety allows optimal use of production potential, especially under short growing seasons or delayed sowing.
Disease resistance and soil requirements:
P8271 is recommended for cultivation throughout Poland, especially on good and medium soils, but also on dry sites. In areas prone to rainfall shortages, it is advised to cultivate at a suitably reduced plant density to fully exploit the variety’s potential. The health profile is at a very high level – stalks have high tolerance to fusarium and common smut, and leaves are highly tolerant to helminthosporium turcicum (yellow leaf spot). The combination of healthiness and strong lodging resistance minimises the risk of losses and ensures a safe harvest.
