Description

Microstar PZ - starter fertiliser in the form of micro-granules

What are the benefits of using the Microstar PZ starter fertiliser?

  • Speed - the fertiliser is immediately available to plants (granules dissolve quickly in water),
  • No effect of the growing medium on phosphorus availability - phosphorus is available regardless of soil pH,
  • Influences root system development,
  • Ensures vigorous growth,
  • Generates abundant flowering and fruiting,
  • Effectiveness - 100% water soluble, and therefore very efficient,
  • Proper and rapid initial growth, thanks to the content of nitrogen and sulphur,
  • Increased resistance to low temperatures - thanks to the zinc content.

Microstar PZ is a fertiliser in the form of micro-granules. For starter fertilisation of, among others, vegetables, horticultural crops, agricultural crops, fruit trees and shrubs.

It is characterised by a high content of phosphorus, nitrogen, zinc and sulphur. They provide vigorous growth and abundant flowering and fruiting of fertilised plants as well as strong root system development.

It has appropriately balanced proportions of these nutrients.

Additionally, the phosphorus contained in the fertiliser occurs in the form of organic compounds. Thanks to this, it is practically 100% available to fertilised plants and independent of soil pH.

Moreover, all nutrients contained in the fertiliser are completely and rapidly water soluble. This ensures maximum fertiliser effectiveness.

Granule size is 0.5-1 mm. 1 kg of fertiliser equals 1,000,000 granules!

20 kg MICROSTAR PZ applied simultaneously with seed sowing or vegetable seedling and tree and shrub planting replaces 100-130 kg of NP fertiliser 18-46 + 400 g Zn applied broadcast over the entire area.

Using MICROSTAR PZ fertiliser at a dose of 20 kg/ha allows reducing fertilisation costs for example for maize by approx. 240 PLN/ha according to August 2008 prices.

What is the composition of the Microstar PZ starter fertiliser?

  • 10% total nitrogen (N) including:
    - nitrate nitrogen (N),
    - ammonium nitrogen (N),
  • 40% phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) water soluble,
  • 11% sulphur trioxide (SO3) water soluble,
  • 2% zinc (Zn) water soluble.

In which crops can Microstar PZ be used?

The Microstar PZ starter fertiliser can be used in crops:

  • sugar beet,
  • potatoes,
  • oilseed rape,
  • maize,
  • vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, sweet pepper, onion, carrot),
  • tobacco,
  • fruit trees and shrubs,
  • production of vegetable and flower seedlings.

What is the role of phosphorus in plant development?

Phosphorus is essential for plants to develop an appropriate root system. It is also responsible for seed setting and flowering. It is important that it is available to plants from the moment of seed germination. In the case of perennial plants, it should be available from the start of vegetation. However, often during emergence and early growth the soil is dry and temperature is low. This significantly limits phosphorus availability. As a result, root system development and plant growth are inhibited. A weak root system cannot properly supply the plant with nutrients.

In practice, phosphorus availability to plants depends on soil pH. It is highest at pH 6.5-7. Unfortunately, a significant part of soils in Poland is acidic, which greatly limits the utilisation of this element. Moreover, phosphorus is immobile in the soil and it is important that it is as close as possible to the root hair zone - ideally 1-2 mm from the germination site.

The best solution for a good start of the crop may be the use of starter fertilisation with Microstar PZ fertiliser together with seed sowing or plant planting. Phosphorus in this fertiliser occurs in compounds ensuring maximum, practically 100% availability to plants regardless of soil pH.

What precautions should be taken when using Microstar PZ fertiliser?

  • The fertiliser contains micronutrients. Use only when necessary.
  • Do not exceed recommended doses. Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse eyes and skin immediately with plenty of water.

Application and dosage

Crop

How to apply? Dosage

When to apply?

Sugar beet

Recommended dose: 20 - 30 kg/ha

apply simultaneously with sugar beet sowing

Potato

Recommended dose: 20 - 30 kg/ha

apply simultaneously with potato planting

Sunflower

Recommended dose: 20 - 30 kg/ha

apply simultaneously with sunflower sowing

Oilseed rape

Recommended dose: 20 kg/ha.

apply simultaneously with oilseed rape sowing

Vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, sweet pepper, onion)

Recommended dose: 30-40 kg/ha.

apply simultaneously with sowing/planting of agricultural and vegetable crops. To enrich horticultural growing media with phosphorus and zinc, mix the weighed amount of fertiliser with the growing medium.

Tobacco

 Recommended dose: 30 kg/ha.

apply simultaneously with sowing/planting of agricultural and vegetable crops. To enrich horticultural growing media with phosphorus and zinc, mix the weighed amount of fertiliser with the growing medium.

Fruit trees and shrubs

Recommended dose: 20-30 kg/ha.

In orchard crops, apply the fertiliser locally before planting trees and shrubs. To enrich horticultural growing media with phosphorus and zinc, mix the weighed amount of fertiliser with the growing medium.

Production of vegetable and flower seedlings

Recommended dose: 0.3-0.5 kg/m3 of growing medium.

apply simultaneously with sowing/planting of agricultural and vegetable crops. To enrich horticultural growing media with phosphorus and zinc, mix the weighed amount of fertiliser with the growing medium.

Forage plants: alfalfa, timothy grass, clover, ryegrass etc.

Recommended dose: 20 kg/ha

mix evenly with seeds. It is recommended to sow a small area (3-4 ha) at a time to create a homogeneous mixture, then repeat the operation as many times as necessary e.g. 20 kg microgranules + 20 kg seeds - sowing rate 50 kg/ha
