Description

VAQUERO ONION - VARIETY FEATURES:

High-yielding onion variety intended for peeling, distinguished by excellent uniformity, rapid growth rate, and outstanding health. It develops a strong root system that allows for consistently high yields even in dry years.
The onions have a round shape and light brown, yellow skin, with a diameter ranging from 55–100 mm. The variety is characterised by a narrow neck, which accelerates the drying process and uniform bending of the tops upon maturity.
The recommended sowing density for peeling cultivation is 500–600 thousand seeds per hectare. The best results are achieved when sown after 10 April.
This onion performs excellently both for the fresh market and for short-term storage (3–4 months, until the end of December).
An additional advantage is very high resistance to Fusarium and root pinking, making this variety extremely reliable in cultivation.
