Description
Puma Uniwersal 069 EW - herbicide for use in wheat and barley crops
What are the advantages of the herbicide Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
- Fast action,
- High effectiveness,
- Primarily controls loose silky-bent and wild oat, as well as other monocotyledonous weeds,
- In a convenient emulsion form,
- Can be combined with other products (which increases the range of controlled weeds),
- Good quality to price ratio.
Puma Uniwersal 069 EW is a plant protection product, specifically a herbicide designed to control annual monocotyledonous weeds (post-emergence). It is used among others to control loose silky-bent and wild oat, as well as other monocotyledonous weeds.
Puma Uniwersal can be used in winter and spring wheat as well as spring barley.
The product is available as an emulsion (EW, oil in water) for preparing aqueous emulsions.
How to apply the herbicide Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
Puma Uniwersal 069 EW should be applied foliar according to the instructions in the "dosage" section.
It is intended for application using field sprayers.
What is the mode of action of Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
Puma Uniwersal 069 EW exhibits systemic action. After application, it is rapidly absorbed through the green parts of the plants and then translocated to the roots and shoots of the weeds, the sites of action. It inhibits their growth and development.
The onset of action will be growth inhibition of weeds, which occurs 2-3 days after treatment. Within 2-4 weeks, Puma Uniwersal 069 EW will destroy monocotyledonous weeds (from the two-leaf stage to the end of tillering regardless of the crop development stage).
What is the content of active substance in the herbicide Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
Active substance content: fenoxaprop-P-ethyl (a compound from the aryloxyphenoxy acid group) - 69 g/l (6.54%).
Hazardous substances other than the active substance:
- Mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one,
- Solvent naphtha, heavy aromatic hydrocarbons.
In which crops can Puma Uniwersal 069 EW be used?

- Winter wheat,
- Spring barley.
Which weeds are sensitive to Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
- one-sided grass,
- loose silky-bent,
- wild oat,
- hairgrass,
- blackgrass.
Which weeds are resistant to Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
- bent grasses,
- couch grass,
- annual meadow-grass,
- ryegrasses,
- dicotyledonous weeds.
Which weeds are sensitive to the combination of Puma Uniwersal 069 EW with Sekator 125 OD or Chwastox Turbo 340?
The combination of the above products, Puma Uniwersal 069 EW and Sekator 125 OD or Chwastox Turbo 340, shows a much broader spectrum of action (controls more weeds), including the following sensitive weeds:
- corncockle,
- one-sided grass,
- field mustard,
- common chickweed,
- purple dead-nettle,
- white goosefoot,
- field pansy,

- small-flowered yellow-cress.
Which weeds are moderately sensitive to the combination of Puma Uniwersal 069 EW with Sekator 125 OD or Chwastox Turbo 340?
The combination of the above products, Puma Uniwersal 069 EW and Sekator 125 OD or Chwastox Turbo 340, shows a much broader spectrum of action (controls more weeds), including the following moderately sensitive weeds:
- field violet,
- Persian speedwell,
- field speedwell,
- common fumitory.
What is the crop rotation consequence when using Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
Puma Uniwersal 069 EW does not pose a risk to succeeding crops as it decomposes during the crop growing season. If it is necessary to destroy a plantation where Puma Uniwersal 069 EW was applied (due to frost damage, diseases or pests), all crops can be grown on that field after seedbed preparation.
What precautions should be taken when using Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
- To prevent weed resistance to Puma Uniwersal 069 EW, follow the application recommendations on the label and alternate with herbicides from different chemical groups with different mechanisms of action.
- When using Puma Uniwersal 069 EW in mixtures with other plant protection products, follow the recommendations on the labels of those products.
- Do not apply the product (also in mixtures with recommended products):
− on diseased plants or plants damaged by pests,
− during frost periods,
− at temperatures above 28°C and relative humidity below 30%,
− in wind speeds above 3 m/s. - During application, avoid:
− drift of spray liquid onto neighbouring crop plantations,
− overlapping of spray liquid on the edges of treatment strips and headlands.
How to prepare the spray liquid using Puma Uniwersal?
Detailed instructions can be found on the label, available in the "downloads" section.
What are the pre-harvest interval and re-entry period when using Puma Uniwersal 069 EW?
Re-entry period:
- The re-entry period is the time from application until people and animals can enter the treated area.
- Do not enter until the spray liquid on the plant surfaces is completely dry.
Pre-harvest interval:
- The pre-harvest interval is the time from the last application until crop harvest.
- Not applicable.
Pre-harvest interval for fodder:
- The pre-harvest interval for fodder is the time from the last application on plants intended for fodder until animals can be fed with those plants.
- Do not use straw for fodder.
Interval from last application to sowing or planting succeeding crops:
- Not applicable.
