Magnesia-Kainit is a fertiliser (raw potassium salt) containing 9% K2O. It is a special fertiliser used on grassland. As a raw potassium salt, it contains valuable natural kieserite. The fertiliser is effective due to the appropriate proportions of components: magnesium and sulphur (4% MgO, 9% SO3) and sodium important for animals (35% Na2O). All components are completely water-soluble and immediately absorbable by plants. Magnesia-Kainit can be used on all sites as it is effective regardless of soil pH level. An advantage of Magnesia-Kainit is its granulation, which allows easy and precise application.
Approved for use in organic farming according to EU Regulation No 834/2007.
Raw potassium salt Magnesia-Kainit K+S - composition:
- 9% K2O potassium oxide water-soluble
- 4% MgO magnesium oxide water-soluble
- 35% Na2O total
- 9% SO3 sulphur trioxide water-soluble
- 47% Cl Chloride
Magnesia-Kainit K+S - application guidelines:
- The optimal fertilisation period is just before the start of vegetation, when slightly frozen soil facilitates vehicle movement.
- It is also possible to apply during the grass sward stage (in dry condition) and after the first cut.
- Magnesia-Kainit should be stored on a water-impermeable surface under cover (foil) to avoid moisture.
- The amount of fertiliser applied depends on the following factors:
- demand for mineral components resulting from crop cultivation
- content of potassium, magnesium and sodium in the soil
- amount of nutrients supplied with organic fertiliser. - To determine optimal fertiliser amounts, soil analysis and feed analysis for magnesium and sodium content are recommended.
- Magnesia-Kainit fertiliser is produced from natural raw salt deposits formed millions of years ago after the evaporation of seas in present-day Europe.
- Due to its natural origin and minimal processing in production, Magnesia-Kainit is approved for use in organic farming, in accordance with EU Regulation No 834/2007 and Soil Association (UK) certification.
