RED RAY ONIONS - VARIETY CHARACTERISTICS:
The Red Ray onion is a mid-early variety distinguished by its intense red skin colour and very good yield uniformity. It forms spherical onions with high firmness, and the well-developed root system ensures stable plant growth and good performance under various cultivation conditions.
The variety is sown from late March to mid-April, with a seeding rate of approximately 0.75–1 million seeds per hectare. Harvest takes place in August, and the harvested onions are excellent for long-term storage – from early September until the end of March, maintaining high commercial quality.
Red Ray is especially valued for its long storage capability, good firmness and strong root system, which supports uniform growth and allows for healthy, robust onions.
