SHADE GRASS MIXTURE

APPLICATION:
Decorative grass mixture for shaded areas. The lawn is characterised by an intense, vibrant colour. Especially recommended for parks, low sunlight gardens and lawns under tree canopies.

Perennial ryegrass 30%
Red fescue 25%
Red fescue 20%
Sheep fescue 10%
Meadow fescue 5%
Meadow fescue 5%
Common bent 5%

Soil preparation:

The soil for the intended lawn should be thoroughly dug over to a depth of about 15-20 cm using a spade or rototiller. Stones and weeds (manually or using appropriate herbicides - weed killers) should be removed. Then the soil surface should be raked thoroughly to break up clods of earth.
After levelling the surface, the growing medium should be compacted, preferably using a light roller. Rolling should be done in two perpendicular directions "crosswise". Then the soil should be watered abundantly.
We recommend using specialised lawn fertilisers on such prepared soil.
The final stage before sowing is to level the surface carefully with rakes, loosening the soil no deeper than 5 cm.

Sowing seeds:

Before sowing, apply mineral fertiliser to ensure the young grass has the necessary nutrients from the moment of germination. The optimal application timing for sowing seeds is April-May or August-September. During this period, temperatures are stable.
To achieve the desired results, follow the sowing rates indicated on the packaging – 1 kg/30 m2 (hand sowing) and 1 kg/50 m2 (sowing with a seed drill).

Care:

Mowing the grass is the most important maintenance procedure! It should always be done carefully and on time.

The first mowing is done when the lawn reaches about 8-9 cm in height. Set the cutting height to about 3-5 cm. After mowing, apply nitrogen fertilisation. Subsequent mowings should be done at a height of 5-6 cm. It is important to maintain a consistent mowing height throughout the year – this will ensure a beautiful appearance of your lawn. The frequency of mowing depends on the season, fertilisation, and irrigation. The lawn should be mown every 7-10 days, remembering not to allow its height to exceed 10 cm. Mowing is best done "after dew", i.e. in the morning or evening. We do not recommend leaving the cut grass on the lawn, as it hinders the regrowth of young grass shoots.
