Description

Athos 75 WG – effective cereal weed protection

Athos 75 WG is a selective systemic herbicide, applied foliarly for the control of mono- and dicotyledonous weeds in winter wheat crops. The product contains sulfosulfuron (750 g/kg), belonging to the sulfonylurea group, which acts as an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, blocking amino acid synthesis and leading to the inhibition of weed growth.

The preparation is absorbed both through leaves and roots and then quickly translocated within the plant, effectively eliminating unwanted species. The product is available as water-dispersible granules (WG) and requires use in mixture with an adjuvant to ensure maximum efficacy.

Benefits of using Athos 75 WG

  • Systemic action – rapid absorption through leaves and roots and effective translocation within the plant.
  • Selectivity for winter wheat – no phytotoxicity when used as recommended.
  • Long-lasting efficacy – inhibition of weed growth for several weeks.
  • Broad spectrum of activity – effective against the most common weeds in cereal crops.
  • Easy application – convenient formulation as water-dispersible granules.

Use and doses

Athos 75 WG is intended for use in winter wheat, from the beginning of tillering to the second node stage (BBCH 21-32). The product must be applied exclusively with an adjuvant, which improves its efficacy and adhesion to weed leaves.

  • Basic dose: 13.3-26.6 g/ha
  • Recommended spraying: medium droplets
  • Water volume: 150-300 l/ha
  • Maximum number of treatments per season: 1

Athos 75 WG effectively controls blackgrass and dicotyledonous weeds such as: common chickweed, scentless mayweed, volunteer oilseed rape, shepherd's purse, scentless chamomile, cleavers, corn poppy and field pansy.

Precautions and safety of use

Athos 75 WG is intended for professional users. During application, protective gloves, protective clothing and goggles must be worn. To protect aquatic organisms, maintain a buffer zone of 1 m from water bodies and 5 m from non-agricultural land.

Summary

Athos 75 WG is an effective herbicide providing long-lasting protection of winter wheat against weed infestation. Thanks to its systemic action, rapid uptake and high efficacy against mono- and dicotyledonous weeds, it is an indispensable tool in modern crop protection.
