PREPARATION OF THE GROWING MEDIUM

2-3 weeks before sowing, mechanically or chemically clear the area intended for sowing, break up clods, remove roots, stones, etc. If the soil is poor (sandy), it is worth enriching it with compost, peat or humus, then dig over and level.

If it is necessary to improve the soil pH (liming), carry out liming treatment. Then fertilise the area intended for sowing with a complex multi-component fertiliser, e.g. Florovit for lawns, according to the instructions and water thoroughly. If the area was limed, fertilising should be done at least 2-3 weeks after the treatment.

SOWING

About 2-3 weeks after preparation, weed the area again and level it (to reduce weed infestation of the new lawn). Divide the seeds into 2 parts and sow crosswise, by hand or using a seed drill, applying 1 kg of seeds per approximately 40 m2.

Rake the area to lightly mix the seeds with a 1 cm layer of soil (to prevent rain from washing the seeds away), then roll or press down using a board.

Seeds are best sown into moist soil.

MAINTENANCE

Until germination, for about 1-3 weeks, keep the soil moist. The first mowing is done when the grass reaches a height of 8 - 10 cm. Cut it then to 4-5 cm and mow regularly to this height thereafter.
