Description
This is the ideal choice if you are looking for grass for intensive use, with a lush green, dense turf that is highly resistant to trampling.
Florovit UNIVERSAL GRASS MIXTURE works great in home gardens, allotments, and anywhere the lawn is a place for relaxation and leisure. A special selection of lawn grass seeds, adapted to Polish climatic conditions, guarantees a beautiful lawn with high aesthetic and functional qualities and good frost resistance.
The lawn is best established from early April to the end of September.
PREPARATION OF THE GROWING MEDIUM
2-3 weeks before sowing, the area intended for sowing should be cleared mechanically or chemically, clods broken up, roots, stones, etc. removed. If the soil is poor (sandy), it is worth enriching it with compost, peat or humus, then digging over and leveling.
If it is necessary to improve the soil pH (liming), a liming treatment should be carried out.
Next, the area intended for sowing is fertilised with a complex multi-component fertiliser, e.g. Florovit for lawns, according to the instructions, and watered intensively. If the area has been limed, fertilising should be done at least 2-3 weeks after the treatment.
SOWING
About 2-3 weeks after preparation, the area is weeded again and levelled (to reduce weed infestation of the new lawn). The seeds are divided into 2 parts and sown crosswise, by hand or using a seed drill, applying 1 kg of seeds per about 40 m2.
The area is raked to lightly mix the seeds with a 1 cm layer of soil (to prevent rain from washing away the seeds), then rolled or pressed down using a board.
Seeds are best sown in moist soil.
CARE
Until germination, for about 1-3 weeks, the soil should be kept moist. The first mowing is done when the grass reaches a height of 8 - 10 cm. It is then cut back to 4-5 cm and mowed regularly to this height.
