Iroko F1 is a mid-late onion variety characterised by round bulbs. It has a southern type, with traits typical of the Rijnsburger variety, allowing storage for 7–8 months. Plants of this variety produce strong green tops. Research from the last 3 years shows that Iroko F1 is the most disease-resistant hybrid in the Enza Zaden line.
Onion Iroko F1 is characterised by forming a strong, brownish skin, consisting of 3–4 very tightly adhering layers. Its high dry matter content makes it ideal for mechanised harvesting and sorting, and it can also be stored until the end of March.
The most important feature of this variety is its high tolerance, even resistance, to fusarium (Fusarium oxysporum) and pink root rot of onion (Pyrenochaeta terrestris). Thanks to these properties, Iroko F1 is a solid choice for producers, providing disease resistance and the possibility of long-term storage.
