Soil pH meter - a set for measuring soil pH consisting of a colour scale plate and solution.
A soil sample is applied to the appropriate spot and covered with Hellig's solution. The solution, after mixing with the soil, decolourises. The resulting colour should be compared with the colour scale on the plate to read the soil pH.
The pH meter is characterised by high accuracy and quick results. Soil pH also greatly affects the availability of individual micronutrients to plants – soil acidification causes a strong decrease in the availability of most micronutrients.
