Description

Yodo 100 OD is a proven herbicide with the well-known active substance jodosulfuron. It selectively and systemically controls blackgrass and dicotyledonous weeds. The herbicide is applied foliarly as a concentrate in the form of an oil suspension for dilution with water (OD). According to the HRAC classification, the active substance belongs to group B.

EFFECT ON WEEDS

The herbicide contains an active substance classified as an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor, which causes the blocking of branched-chain amino acid biosynthesis, leading to disruptions in protein biosynthesis. Yodo 100 OD is mainly absorbed through the leaves of weeds, to a lesser extent through their roots, then quickly moves within the plant and causes inhibition of weed growth and development.

The first effects of weed control appear after a few days. Symptoms first appear on the upper parts of the plant's growth meristems as chlorosis and necrosis. New, upper leaves wilt, followed gradually by leaves from lower parts of the plant. In some weed species, reddening of leaf veins occurs.

Spraying with the jodosulfuron herbicide Yodo 100 OD most effectively destroys annual weeds at the 2-3 leaf stage. The herbicidal effect is achieved after 14 - 28 days. The speed of action depends on the developmental stage of the weeds and prevailing weather conditions – temperature and air humidity.
