Description
Serifel BASF - microbiological fungicide
- Protects against grey and green mould, as well as sclerotinia stem rot,
- For use in vegetable and fruit crops,
- Natural microbiological fungicide based on the bacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI600,
- The product can be used in organic farming.
Serifel is a microbiological fungicide in the form of a wettable powder (WP). It is intended for preventive use. The active substance is a naturally occurring bacterium - Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI600, which exhibits fungistatic and fungicidal activity by disrupting spore germination and inhibiting pathogen mycelium development. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI600 has the ability to produce substances antagonistic to the pathogen.
The product is to be applied using a self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayer or a backpack sprayer, and in the case of mushrooms, the prepared solution should be added during substrate preparation and thoroughly mixed with the substrate after application.
Serifel - active substance content:
- Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain MBI600 (substance from the group of biological fungicides) - 11% - minimum concentration 5.5 x 10¹⁰ cfu/g.
Serifel - controlled fungal diseases:
- Grey mould,
- Sclerotinia stem rot,
- Green mould (Trichoderma aggressivum).
Serifel - application in crops:
In greenhouse and protected cultivation:
- Strawberry,
- Currant,
- Gooseberry,
- Raspberry,
- Loganberry,
- Blueberry,
- Head lettuce,
- Lamb's lettuce,
- Cichory lettuce,

Serifel BASF - pre-harvest interval and safety period:
Pre-harvest interval - the period from the last application of the product to the day of crop harvest:
- Do not apply the product on the day of harvest.
Safety period - the period from the application of the product until people can enter the treated area and animals can be introduced:
- Do not enter until the spray liquid on the plant surfaces is completely dry.
Serifel - preparation of spray liquid:
Before preparing the spray liquid, accurately determine the required amount. Shake the contents of the package well before use. Pour the prepared suspension into the sprayer tank partially filled with water (with the agitator on). Rinse empty packages three times with water and pour the rinsate into the spray tank. Then fill the sprayer tank with water to the required volume. Spray with the agitator on. If the sprayer tank is not equipped with a hydraulic agitator, mechanically mix the liquid after adding the product. Stir the liquid thoroughly after any break and before resuming spraying.
Serifel - usage instructions:
- The product provides moderate control or limits disease occurrence. Therefore, sufficient efficacy cannot be expected in all cases.
- When using the product in protection programmes that include chemical fungicides, special caution should be taken between the application of the microbiological product and chemical products, especially those containing copper compounds. Consultation with the authorisation holder or their representative is recommended.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
- Wear protective gloves and clothing that protects against plant protection products, and appropriate footwear (e.g., boots) during preparation of the spray liquid and application.
- Do not contaminate water with the plant protection product or its packaging.
- Do not wash equipment near surface waters. Avoid contamination of waters via drainage ditches from farms and roads.
- Avoid release into the environment inconsistent with the intended use.
- To protect aquatic organisms, a buffer zone of 1 m from water bodies and watercourses must be established.
- To protect plants and non-target arthropods, a buffer zone of 1 m from non-agricultural land must be established.
- There is no need to establish buffer zones when using the product in permanently constructed greenhouses isolated from the ground.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store the plant protection product:
- in original packaging,
- in a way preventing contact with food, drinks or feed, environmental contamination and access by unauthorized persons,
- at 4°C – 25°C
