Description

Xerton (etofumesat) UPL - herbicide

Benefits of using Xerton herbicide, UPL:

  • Effective agent against monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds in winter wheat cultivation,
  • Controls annual meadow-grass and blackgrass,
  • Protects the crop from secondary weed infestation.

Xerton is a selective herbicide in the form of a concentrated suspension for dilution with water (SC). It has systemic action. It is used as a soil or foliar application to control monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds in winter wheat.

The Xerton product by UPL is intended for use by professional users with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Xerton herbicide - active substance content:

  • etofumesat (a compound from the benzofuran derivatives group) - 417 g/l (37.57%).

Xerton UPL - mode of action:

Xerton contains an active substance classified as an inhibitor of long-chain fatty acid biosynthesis. In the plant, it limits wax production, inhibits meristem growth, and delays cell division. The product is absorbed through roots (dicotyledonous plants) or shoots (monocotyledonous plants) and then translocated to the leaves.

The product is most effective at destroying weeds from the germination stage to the cotyledon stage. Sensitive species usually do not germinate or germinate very slowly, have twisted leaves often with dark green colouring, stop growth at the seedling stage, and quickly die.

Appropriate soil moisture promotes better uptake of the product from the soil, enhancing the herbicidal effect.

Due to the long persistence of the product in the upper soil layer, it protects the crop from secondary weed infestation.

Xerton herbicide - application:

To protect groundwater, do not apply this or any other product containing etofumesat on the same field in any three consecutive years in doses exceeding a total of 1.0 kg of active substance per 1 ha.

Which weeds does Xerton herbicide control?

Sensitive weeds:

  • annual meadow-grass.

Moderately sensitive weeds:

  • blackgrass.

Xerton UPL herbicide can be used in crops:

  • Winter wheat.

Xerton herbicide - crop rotation:

After harvesting winter wheat, in which the product was applied in the previous autumn, all crops can be grown.

If earlier ploughing of the protected crop is necessary, on fields where the product was applied in autumn - subsequent crops can be grown after ploughing and at least 90 days after application. However, if needed, maize, perennial ryegrass, flax, buckwheat, tomato, cucumber, oilseed rape, soybean, pea, sugar beet, faba bean, carrot, and onion may be sown immediately and without restrictions, including without ploughing.

Xerton herbicide - re-entry period:

Re-entry period - the time from application until people can enter the treated area and animals can be introduced:

  • Do not enter until the spray liquid has completely dried on the plant surfaces.
