Desiccants

Desiccants are agents intended for the desiccation of plants and the destruction of foliage in agricultural and horticultural crops. They are mainly used in the professional cultivation of potato, highbush blueberry, apple tree, strawberry, raspberry, as well as on pavements and access roads. They facilitate the preparation of plants for harvest and limit the growth of weeds.

About the Desiccants category

This category includes products containing active substances such as carfentrazone-ethyl, nonanoic acid and pyraflufen-ethyl. They are used for desiccation, that is, accelerating the drying of above-ground plant parts and controlling weeds such as Alopecurus myosuroides, field pansy, common chickweed and white goosefoot. Example products include Beloukha 680 EC and Spotlight Plus 060 EO FMC.

Desiccants are available in various forms, including herbicides, growth regulators and disinfectants. Subcategories differ in application – some products are intended for the chemical destruction of potato foliage, others for the desiccation of berry fruits or for limiting weed infestation in non-agriculturally used areas.

Use plant protection products safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
