Spotlight Plus 060 EO FMC - herbicide

Potato plantations:

  • Improvement of health and quality of potato tubers by:
    - preventing the movement of viruses from leaves and stems to tubers,
    - preventing and limiting potato late blight infection of tubers,
    - reducing the number of mechanical damages during harvest.
  • Preparation for tuber harvest on potato plantations.
  • Facilitation of machinery work (diggers, combines) during potato harvest.

Berry plant plantations:

  • Reduction of dicotyledonous weed competition.
  • Control of root suckers or runners.
  • Optimisation of quantity and quality of yield of berry plants.
  • Reduction of manual or mechanical labour in professional berry plant production.

Spotlight Plus 060 EO is a foliar herbicide. It is available as an EO emulsion (water in oil). Designed for destruction of potato haulm (edible and industrial potato plantations), destruction of runners and control of dicotyledonous weeds in strawberry inter-rows, as well as destruction of root suckers and control of dicotyledonous weeds in raspberry, blackberry, black and red currant, and highbush blueberry cultivation.

Contains ethyl carfentrazone, a protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitor, increasing plant sensitivity to light (photodynamic action) and consequently causing their damage.

Acts contactly, absorbed through green parts of plants, and the drying (destruction) process of shoots starts from the plant growth tips.

The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Plant protection product Spotlight Plus FMC - active substance content:

  • ethyl carfentrazone (compound from the triazolinone group) - 60 g/l (6.4%).

According to HRAC classification, the active substance ethyl carfentrazone belongs to group 14 (formerly group E).

Feed withdrawal period - period from last application of the product on plants intended for feed to the day animals can be fed with these plants:

  • Not applicable

Re-entry interval - period from product application to the day when people and animals can enter the treated area:

  • Do not enter until spray liquid on plant surfaces is completely dry.

Spotlight Plus 060 EO FMC - preparation of spray liquid:

Before preparing the spray liquid, accurately determine the required amount. Pour the measured amount of product into the sprayer tank partially filled with water (with the agitator on). Rinse emptied containers three times with water and pour rinsate into the sprayer tank with the spray liquid. Then fill the sprayer tank with water to the required volume. If the sprayer tank is not equipped with a hydraulic agitator, mechanically mix the liquid in the tank after adding the product. Spray with the agitator on. In case of breaks during spraying, thoroughly mix the spray liquid in the tank before resuming work.

Spotlight Plus FMC - usage guidelines:

  • Sunny and dry weather accelerates the product’s action.
  • Perform the treatment when potato plants are fully turgid (preferably after rain, on dried plants or in early morning hours).
  • When using the product for potato haulm destruction, do not add a wetting agent.
  • Do not apply the product:
    - on wet potato plants;
    - if rain is expected within 1 hour after treatment;
    - during high temperatures;
    - when soil is cracked and potato tubers are exposed.
  • During application, avoid:
    - spray drift onto neighbouring crop plantations;
    - overlapping spray liquid on treatment strip edges and headlands.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
  • Wear protective gloves and clothing protecting against plant protection products, and appropriate footwear (e.g. boots) during preparation of spray liquid and application.
  • Do not contaminate water with the plant protection product or its packaging. Do not wash equipment near surface waters. Avoid water contamination via drainage ditches from farms and roads. To protect aquatic organisms, establish a 1 m buffer zone from water bodies and watercourses. To protect non-target plants, establish a 10 m buffer zone from non-agricultural land.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store the plant protection product:
    - in places or facilities with appropriate measures preventing environmental contamination and access by unauthorised persons,
    - in original packaging, preventing contact with food, beverages or feed,
    - locked, away from heat sources,

How to apply? Dosage

When to apply?

Potato

Desiccation - destruction of potato haulm.

Single application Maximum/recommended dose per single application: 1.0 l/ha. Maximum number of treatments per growing season: 1. Recommended water volume: 200-300 l/ha. Recommended spraying: medium droplet size. Split dose treatment First treatment Maximum/recommended dose per single application: 0.7 l/ha. Second treatment Maximum/recommended dose per single application: 0.3 l/ha. Maximum number of treatments per growing season: 2. Interval between treatments: 5-7 days. Recommended water volume: 200-300 l/ha. Recommended spraying: medium droplet size.

Haulm destruction timing: 1. Physiological timing Perform treatment at the potato plant senescence stage (BBCH 90), about 2-3 weeks before the expected (physiological) potato harvest date. Exact application timing should be determined depending on weather conditions in the region and the earliness group and intended use of the potato variety. When potato tubers have reached appropriate size, commercial quality and suitable skin maturity. 2. Timing considering viral diseases Haulm destruction is performed after potato flowering, about 7-14 days after the summer flight of aphids - vectors of viral diseases: early varieties in the third decade of July, about 60 days after potato emergence, medium-early varieties in the first decade of August, about 70 days after emergence, late varieties in the first or second decade of August, about 80 days after emergence. 3. Timing considering potato late blight control In potato late blight protection programmes, haulm destruction is the last protective treatment destroying fungal spores moving from haulm to tubers. Harvest interval: Within 14 days after product application. Keeping potato tubers in soil longer than 3 weeks may cause regrowth of aboveground parts and increase risk of tuber infection by Rhizoctonia.

Strawberry

Control of dicotyledonous weeds in inter-rows, destruction of runners.

Recommended water volume: 1000 l/ha. Recommended spraying: medium droplet size. WARNING: 1. Perform treatments in inter-rows, spraying weeds and runners very thoroughly. 2. Avoid spraying leaves and neighbouring crops due to risk of typical contact herbicide damage. 3. Use shields to prevent spray drift onto strawberry leaves and shoots.

Application timing: First treatment after fruit harvest (July-August), second treatment next year in early spring.

Raspberry, blackberry

Control of dicotyledonous weeds, destruction of root suckers.

Maximum/recommended dose per single application: 0.8 l/ha. WARNING: Do not exceed 1.6 l/ha of product per growing season. Maximum number of treatments per growing season: 2. Minimum interval between treatments: 7 days. WARNING: 1. Perform treatments in inter-rows, spraying weeds and root suckers very thoroughly. 2. Avoid spraying leaves and neighbouring crops due to risk of typical contact herbicide damage. 3. Use shields to prevent spray drift onto shrub leaves.
