BNA Pro Lhoist - liquid lime for tree whitening
BNA Pro Lhoist is a natural lime preparation for whitening trees in orchard crops. It protects plants against pests, bacteria, fungi and bark damage. It reflects UV radiation, preventing overheating and frost damage.
Description
BNA Pro Lhoist - liquid lime for tree whitening
BNA Pro Lhoist is a natural lime preparation for prophylactic use against pests, bacteria, fungi and damage to tree and shrub elements in orchard crops during the leafless period. BNA Pro creates a physical barrier in the form of mineral particles, which limits the recognition of the tree by pests and hinders the penetration of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi (in the case of wounds caused by tree pruning and leaf fall). It also protects trees against bark cracking. BNA Pro protects crops against diseases such as bacterial canker or bark and wood diseases and against pests (early spring) and rodents (e.g. hares gnawing the bark). The product used for tree whitening reflects UV rays, so trunks, shoots and flower buds do not heat up during sunny weather and are less sensitive to frost damage and temperature fluctuations.
The natural origin composition and suspension form make BNA Pro completely harmless to all plant parts (trunk, green mass and fruit). Moreover, due to its high pH (approximately 12.4), the product has excellent adhesion, making it resistant to washing off – it remains even during heavy rainfall of up to 150 mm. Most of the preparation stays on the plants for at least 70-80 days, and its residues are clearly visible even after 100 days from application.
Application of BNA Pro is possible on the whole tree or just the trunk. The preparation is easy to spray thanks to particle micronisation (D50: 3.5μm). Its specific, patented formula (patent no. FR2997393 B1) ensures that besides low wash-off, it has excellent covering properties. BNA Pro can be used in organic farming and can also be mixed with copper products, which prolongs the retention of copper on the plant in this combination.
BNA Pro Lhoist - benefits of use:
- Whitening effect (Albedo) – UV rays are reflected, so trunks, shoots and flower buds do not heat up during sunny weather and are less sensitive to frost damage and temperature fluctuations
- Protection against bark cracking on trunks – especially important in apple tree Gala and sweet cherry, peach, apricot cultivation
- Barrier to pathogen development including bacterial canker, bark and wood diseases.
- Barrier to pest development in early spring
- Physical barrier against rodents (hares) – no bark gnawing
- Possibility of mixing with copper products – double strength in limiting disease development
- NON-WASHABLE product – most remains on plants for at least 70–80 days. Residues are clearly visible even after 100 days from application.
BNA Pro Lhoist - composition and parameters:
- Composition: up to 600 g/l calcium hydroxide.
- Density: 1.35.
Application technique and recommended timings:
- Very important technique during application – perfect coverage of plants with spray liquid is necessary for full effect.
- Application during dry and windless weather
- For best effect, application in two directions of rows is recommended.
- Dose 150-200 l/ha and 800-1000 l spray liquid/ha. Two treatments should be performed in opposite directions with this dose.
- The product easily sediments, so PERFECT mixing in the tank before pouring into the sprayer is NECESSARY.
- Filters and nozzles should be thoroughly cleaned before application
- To facilitate equipment cleaning after application, it is advisable to protect it before application with a fatting substance, e.g. diesel oil.
- Due to the above-mentioned risks to plants, 2 treatments in the autumn-winter period are recommended to protect plants from late autumn to early spring. Therefore, optimal timings are: 1st treatment mid-November and 2nd treatment mid-February.
