Description

Caryx 240 SL - growth regulator and fungicide in winter oilseed rape cultivation

What are the benefits of using the plant protection product Caryx 240 SL for winter oilseed rape?

  • Acts systemically,
  • Contains two active substances mepiquat chloride and metconazole (unique combination),
  • Classified as both a growth regulator and a fungicide,
  • Designed specifically for oilseed rape protection,
  • Works regardless of weather and temperature (even when frost is expected at night),
  • Is absorbed quickly,
  • Is rainfast,
  • Ensures an increase in the number of lateral shoots,
  • Prevents lodging.

Caryx 240 SL is a plant protection product from the group of growth and development regulators. At the same time, it can also be classified as a fungicide. It is available as a water-soluble concentrate (SL).

It exhibits systemic action.

Caryx can be used preventively, interventively, and curatively. It protects winter oilseed rape against fungal diseases.

The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

What is the content of active substances in the Caryx growth regulator?

  • Mepiquat chloride (a compound from the piperidine – pentamethyleneimine group) – 210 g/l (19.1%),
  • Metconazole (a compound from the triazole group) – 30 g/l (2.7%).

How does Caryx 240 SL work?

As you already know, Caryx contains two active substances: mepiquat chloride and metconazole.

Mepiquat chloride inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis. As a result, it causes the formation of a compact rosette (shoot with leaves) just above the ground in autumn. Plants with a compact autumn rosette show greater frost resistance and better development during spring.

Metconazole is responsible for the control of fungal diseases. Additionally, it acts as a growth regulator.

Both substances mentioned above have yield-enhancing effects, increasing the harvested mass of oilseed rape seeds.

In which crops can the plant protection product Caryx 240 SL be used?

  • Winter oilseed rape.

How to use the Caryx 240 SL growth regulator?

The plant protection product Caryx can be applied both as an autumn and spring spray. In autumn, it protects oilseed rape against diseases such as dry cabbage rot and blackleg, and in spring it additionally protects against grey mould.

Detailed information regarding dosage and application of Caryx 240 SL can be found in the "Dosage" section and in the plant protection product label attached in the downloadable files.

What are the pre-harvest interval and safety periods when using Caryx 240 SL for oilseed rape?

During the safety period, i.e., from the application of the product until the day when people can enter the treated area and animals can be introduced, entry is prohibited until the spray liquid on the plant surface is completely dry.

The pre-harvest interval, i.e., the period from the last application to the day of crop harvest, does not apply to Caryx. The same applies to the pre-harvest interval for fodder (the period from the last application on plants intended for fodder until the day animals can be fed with these plants).

What is the crop rotation interval when using Caryx?

The period from the last application on plants until the day when succeeding crops can be sown or planted does not apply to Caryx.

What are the recommendations when using spray liquid prepared with Caryx 240 SL?

  • During spraying, prevent drift of the spray liquid onto neighbouring crops.
  • To minimise the risk and occurrence of resistance in disease agents, alternate the product with fungicides from other chemical groups with different modes of action.

More information can be found in the attached label in the downloadable files.
