ONION EXHIBITION - VARIETY FEATURES:
Growing period: approx. 160 days
Purpose: fresh market, short-term storage
Onion Exhibition is a late variety with a growing period of about 160 days, known for exceptionally large bulbs and mild flavour.
Despite the long maturation, bulbs set quickly, allowing for earlier harvests. The bulbs can reach up to 1 kg in weight, have a golden skin and crisp, delicate flesh.
The variety performs best in fresh market cultivation but is also suitable for short-term storage – until mid-November. It achieves high yield potential especially when grown from seedlings, enabling record, very uniform bulbs.
The variety is recommended for sowing from January (seedlings) or from April directly into the ground. A sowing rate of 300–400 thousand seeds/ha or planting seedlings at 150–200 thousand/ha is advised.
Exhibition also stands out for IR tolerance: Foc, which supports yield stability. It is characterised by good vigour, rapid bulb growth and high commercial quality, making it valued by both producers and consumers.
