Pallene (fluazinam, valifenalate) Belchim - fungicide
Pallene is a fungicide containing fluazinam (200 g/l) and valifenalate (150 g/l) designed to protect potato against potato late blight. The product acts both contact and systemic, effectively inhibiting pathogen development and protecting plants from infection.
Description
Pallene – effective protection of potato against potato late blight
Pallene is a modern fungicide designed to protect potato crops against one of the most dangerous diseases – potato late blight. The product contains two complementary active substances: fluazinam (200 g/l) from the aniline derivatives group and valifenalate (150 g/l) from the acylamino group. Thanks to this, the product acts in multiple ways, providing effective and long-lasting plant protection.
The combination of contact and systemic action limits pathogen development both on the plant surface and within leaf tissues, significantly increasing protection effectiveness under high disease pressure.
Mode of action
Pallene combines two different modes of action of the active substances that complement each other.
Fluazinam acts contactly, forming a protective layer on the plant surface that prevents fungal spore germination and plant infection. This substance blocks energy processes in the pathogen cells, effectively inhibiting disease development.
Valifenalate acts systemically and translaminarly – after application to leaves, it partially penetrates plant tissues and also protects newly developing plant parts. It inhibits the development of pathogens from the oomycete group responsible for potato late blight.
This combination of modes of action increases treatment effectiveness and reduces the risk of pathogen resistance development.
Use and controlled diseases
Pallene is primarily intended for the protection of potato against diseases caused by pathogens from the oomycete group.
The product effectively controls:
Potato – potato late blight (Phytophthora infestans)
The product is best used preventively or in the early stages of disease development when there is a risk of infection. Regular use within a fungicide protection programme allows effective limitation of disease development and protects yield.
Application recommendations
The product should be applied during the intensive growth period of potato plants when conditions favour disease development.
- perform the first treatment preventively or at the first sign of infection risk
- carry out treatments as part of a fungicide protection programme
- use alternately with fungicides having a different mode of action
- thoroughly cover plants with the working liquid
The product shows good adhesion to leaf surfaces and high rainfastness.
Benefits of using Pallene
- effective protection against potato late blight
- combination of two active substances with different modes of action
- contact and systemic action
- high preventive efficacy
- supports anti-resistance strategy in fungicide protection
- good durability of action under field conditions
Notes
Pallene should be used according to the label recommendations and integrated plant protection principles. To reduce the risk of pathogen resistance development, rotation with fungicides of different modes of action and adherence to the maximum number of treatments per season are recommended.
Required pre-harvest intervals and withholding periods specified on the product label must also be observed.
Application and dosage
| Crop | Disease | Product dose | Application timing | Number of treatments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Potato | Potato late blight | 0.4 l/ha | Apply preventively or after first disease symptoms appear, from side shoot development to beginning of leaf senescence (BBCH 25–91) | Maximum 3 treatments per season |
