Description

FEATURES OF THE WINTER TRITICALE HEROICO VARIETY:

Winter triticale HEROICO is a variety that outperforms the competition with its yield potential. It is distinguished by short, stiff straw, which effectively eliminates the risk of pre-harvest lodging, significantly facilitating and speeding up the work of agricultural machinery during harvest. Its early heading and ripening dates allow optimal use of water stored after winter. The key to HEROICO's record yields is the ear structure – they are exceptionally compact, characterised by very high fertility of spikelets and an impressive Thousand Grain Weight (TGW) of around 47.9 g.

An undeniable advantage of this variety is its balanced and very strong health profile. Outstanding resistance to powdery mildew, yellow rust, and fusarium head blight gives the farmer exceptional flexibility – this triticale can be safely sown in cereal monoculture and on fields after maize. Additionally, HEROICO has a powerful tillering ability (rating 8.0), which means it responds very positively to reduced sowing rates, allowing significant savings on seed costs.

Benefits of choosing Winter Triticale HEROICO:

  • Record and stable yields: Winner of the Gold Medal at Polagra-Premiery 2024. Produces compact ears with high fertility and very high Thousand Grain Weight (47.9 g).
  • Crop rotation flexibility: High resistance to fusarium head blight ensures 100% crop safety after challenging preceding crops such as maize or other cereals.
  • Sowing cost optimisation: Thanks to its strong tillering ability (8.0), the plant responds excellently to reduced sowing rates, lowering initial expenses.
  • Crop safety: Earliness, very high lodging resistance (short plants), and good winter hardiness protect the crop from weather variability.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Winter Triticale HEROICO:

Why can HEROICO triticale be safely sown after maize?

The key to safe cultivation after challenging preceding crops is this variety's health profile. HEROICO is characterised by very high genetic resistance to fusarium head blight, which drastically reduces the risk of infection by this disease on fields after maize or in cereal monoculture.

What sowing rate should be used in the optimal period?

Because this variety exhibits outstanding tillering strength (rated 8.0), it responds very well to lower sowing density. In the optimal agrotechnical period (until 10 October), the recommended sowing rate is 200 to 300 seeds per 1 m², allowing significant savings on seed material.
