Description
Bear's garlic
A frost-resistant ornamental plant with a wonderful flavour, aroma and medicinal properties. All its parts are edible: leaves, bulbs, flower buds and flowers. The bulbs have bactericidal properties, stimulate appetite and treat the respiratory tract. Leaves rich in vitamin C are worth adding to soups, sauces and lettuce. A groundcover plant for moist, semi-shaded and shaded locations. Sow in autumn X-XI at a depth of 1 cm in permeable, fertile soil, or in spring in III-IV. Before spring sowing, seeds must undergo stratification; mix them with moist sand and refrigerate (-4ºC to 4ºC) for 5–6 weeks.
