Carrot Deep Purple F1 is an industrial variety with purple roots, mainly intended for autumn harvests. It is characterised by a very intensely coloured cortex and a lighter core, with a vegetation period of about 135 days. The roots stand out due to their very high lutein content.
The variety is used in industry, where it is utilised for the production of natural dyes and juices. Sowing is recommended from mid-May to mid-June, at a rate of 0.7–0.8 million seeds per hectare.
Deep Purple F1 requires increased protection against fungal diseases and shows IR resistance to Ps and Pv.
