Common Pumpkin Zucchini Black Beauty - characteristics

Black Beauty zucchini is a very early and high-yielding variety intended for cultivation in greenhouses, tunnels, and in the field.

The fruits have a cylindrical shape, length of 18–23 cm, and a uniform, deep, dark green colour without spots. Their shape and uniformity make them highly valued on the market.

Why choose Black Beauty?

This variety provides a very high yield of tasty fruits. The cylindrical, shapely fruits stand out for their visual appeal and are appreciated by consumers.

Even with water deficiency, the fruits remain valuable. They are smaller but contain more dry matter, which emphasises their sweet flavour.

Nutritional properties

Black Beauty zucchini is a rich source of vitamins such as A, B1, B2, C and PP, as well as mineral salts, carotene, and macro and micronutrients.

Its flesh supports regeneration of the digestive tract and liver, and the seeds help in counteracting diabetes and prostate problems. It is an excellent choice for those caring about a healthy diet.

Uses and cultivation recommendations

The best conditions for growing this zucchini are warm, wind-protected, and well-sunny locations. The soil should be fertile, permeable, and well-irrigated, with a pH of 6.5–7.0.

To speed up cultivation, seeds can be sown in mid-April in a seedbed, and young plants transplanted to the ground in the second half of May. Harvesting lasts from June to October.
