Description

Starane Forte (methyl halauxifen – Arylex, fluroxypyr-meptyl) Corteva - herbicide

Benefits of using Starane Forte herbicide, Corteva:

  • Effective product against weeds in spring and winter cereals,
  • Wide spectrum of controlled weeds,
  • Control of, among others, cleavers, cornflower, common chickweed and field poppy.

Starane Forte is a selective herbicide in the form of a concentrate for preparing an aqueous emulsion. It has systemic action. It is applied foliarly for autumn control of blackgrass and dicotyledonous weeds in winter cereals after cereal emergence.

Starane Forte is intended for use by professional users with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Starane Forte herbicide - active substance content:

  • methyl halauxifen – Arylex (a compound from the aryloxyphenoxy group) - 12 g/l (1.16%),
  • fluroxypyr-meptyl (derivatives of pyridinyloxycarboxylic acids) - 280 g/l (27.03%),
  • Hazardous substances not classified as active substances: cloquintocet-mexyl.

Starane Forte Corteva - mode of action:

Starane Forte herbicide is absorbed through the leaves and then translocated to other parts of the plant. After treatment, sensitive weeds stop growing, followed by deformation of stems and leaves and chlorosis, leading to necrosis and death of weeds.

The fastest herbicidal effect is achieved by applying Starane Forte to weeds in early growth stages during intensive growth.

  • Geraniums - most effective control up to 12 cm height,
  • Field bindweed - most effective control up to 15 cm height,
  • Common fumitory and purple dead-nettle - most effective control up to 20 cm height,
  • Common chickweed and white goosefoot - most effective control up to 25 cm height,
  • Cleavers - most effective control up to 40 cm height.
  • Field poppy rosette - most effective control from diameter greater than 10 cm,
  • Cornflower - most effective control from diameter not exceeding 12 cm,
  • Shepherd's purse - most effective control from diameter not exceeding 15 cm.

Starane Forte can be used in a wide range of air temperatures (from 2 to 25°C), at low or high air humidity. Rainfall occurring 1 hour after treatment does not reduce effectiveness. Prolonged drought may reduce herbicidal efficacy.

Which weeds does Starane Forte herbicide control?

Sensitive weeds - winter cereals:

  • at a dose of 0.25 l/ha: common fumitory, purple dead-nettle,
  • at a dose of 0.375 l/ha: small geranium, cut-leaved cranesbill, cleavers,
  • at a dose of 0.5 l/ha: cornflower, common chickweed, field poppy, shepherd's purse.

Sensitive weeds - spring cereals:

  • at a dose of 0.25 l/ha: cleavers,
  • at a dose of 0.375 l/ha: small geranium, white goosefoot,
  • at a dose of 0.5 l/ha: field bindweed (syn. convolvulus).

Starane Forte herbicide can be used in crops:

  • winter wheat,
  • winter durum wheat,
  • winter spelt wheat,
  • winter barley,
  • winter rye,
  • winter triticale,
  • spring wheat,
  • spring durum wheat,
  • spring spelt wheat,
  • spring barley,
  • spring rye,
  • spring triticale.

Starane Forte herbicide - crop rotation:

After applying the product at 0.5 l/ha up to the final stage of flag leaf sheath swelling (BBCH 45), Starane Forte plant protection product degrades in the soil (microbial degradation) to a level that does not pose a risk to succeeding crops.

After harvesting the treated crop, in summer or autumn of the same year, after ploughing or simplified tillage, the following can be grown:

  • blue phacelia,
  • white mustard,
  • pea,
  • common buckwheat,
  • common radish,
  • winter oilseed rape,
  • sown vetch,
  • winter wheat,
  • winter barley,
  • winter triticale,
  • rye,
  • grasses.

Before sowing alfalfa, broad bean, faba bean, soybean and clover sown in autumn after cereal harvest, ploughing is recommended. In the following spring growing season, all crops can be grown.

If earlier destruction of the spring-treated crop is necessary, after:

  • 1 month from treatment, spring wheat, spring barley, oats can be sown,
  • 2 months from treatment, maize, spring oilseed rape, field pea, broad bean, common vetch (hairy vetch) can be grown.

Starane Forte Corteva herbicide - pre-harvest interval and withholding period:

Pre-harvest interval - period from product application until people and animals can enter the treated area:

  • Do not enter until the spray liquid has completely dried on the plant surfaces.

Withholding period - period from last application until crop harvest:

  • cereals - 50 days.

Period from last application to sowing or planting of succeeding crops:

  • Crop rotation must be observed.
