FEATURES OF THE WINTER WHEAT ELEKTRA VARIETY:

Winter wheat ELEKTRA is an exceptional variety with a very high and stable yield potential, outperforming many market standards and newer varieties. It is characterised by rapid, intensive growth after winter and very vigorous growth dynamics in spring. This physiology allows the plant to effectively avoid the negative effects of early spring droughts and maximise the use of available soil moisture (drought tolerance is as high as 8.0). The plants form a well-structured stand with a single ear type and compensatory elements, highly resistant to lodging and grain shedding before and during harvest.

ELEKTRA shows outstanding stand health – its almost armour-like resistance to basal stem diseases (9/9) gives farmers full confidence to sow in tight cereal crop rotations without increased risk of yield loss. This variety has average soil requirements and excellent adaptability to various environments and sites. Additionally, it is fully resistant to herbicides containing chlorotoluron, providing growers with great flexibility in choosing effective and economical weed control products.

Advantages of choosing Winter Wheat ELEKTRA:

  • Record yields in all conditions: Outstanding adaptability and high drought tolerance (8.0) ensure above-average yields regardless of adverse weather.
  • Safe sowing after cereals: Extremely high resistance to basal stem diseases (9/9) minimises the risk of losses due to pathogen pressure in cereal monoculture.
  • Rapid spring start: Intense vigour after winter and excellent autumn and spring growth dynamics allow the plant to quickly escape spring drought.
  • High health and easy protection: High resistance to major fungal diseases (including rust, powdery mildew and septoria) and full tolerance to chlorotoluron greatly simplify and reduce field management costs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - WINTER WHEAT ELEKTRA:

Can Elektra wheat be safely sown in rotation after other cereals?

Yes, ELEKTRA shows outstanding, very high resistance at level 9/9 to basal stem diseases. This allows much safer sowing in cereal monoculture without drastically increasing the risk of yield decline, which is a great advantage for farms focused on cereal production.

How does this plant cope with spring droughts?

The Elektra variety is characterised by very rapid and intensive vigour after winter, which directly translates into dynamic growth and biomass development in early spring. This allows the plant to efficiently use winter soil moisture and avoid the negative effects of early spring water shortages (overall drought tolerance is rated very high at 8.0).
