Description

Polygreen Fungicide WP - ecological fungicide

Advantages of Polygreen product:

  • Naturally protects crops against sclerotinia stem rot, dry rot of cabbages and fusarium head blight, thus against the most important plant diseases.
  • Dedicated use - for use in winter oilseed rape, winter and spring wheat, as well as spring barley.
  • Highly concentrated.
  • Durable - fungal spores occur in the form of oospores (resting cells), which are surrounded by a thick cell wall. They germinate after a dormancy period or after surviving adverse living conditions.
  • Induces resistance and stimulates plant growth.
  • Safe for animals and humans. No pre-harvest interval.
  • Compatible with other plant protection products (e.g. insecticides based on active substances cypermethrin or deltamethrin).
  • Registered in most European countries and also in other countries worldwide.
  • Listed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, allowing the product for use in organic farming.

Polygreen Fungicide is a microbiological fungicide (containing a living organism). It is available as a water dispersible powder (WP). Polygreen is intended to protect the root zone against fungal diseases. The active substance is spores of the fungus Pythium oligandrum. The non-pathogenic fungus Pythium oligandrum is a parasite of some pathogenic fungal species. It colonises the root zone, eliminating some pathogenic fungi through competitive action. At the same time, it stimulates plant growth by introducing phytohormones, phosphorus and sugars into the plants. This stimulation begins during direct contact between the mycelium and young plant tissue. When applied as foliar spraying, Pythium oligandrum breaks down pathogenic fungal hyphae enzymatically, while simultaneously stimulating the immune mechanisms of the protected plant.

The registration allows the use of Polygreen in winter oilseed rape (sclerotinia stem rot, dry rot of cabbages) and winter wheat, spring wheat and spring barley (fusarium head blight).

The product is intended for use with self-propelled or tractor-mounted field sprayers.

Natural fungicide Polygreen Fungicide WP - active substance content:

  • Pythium oligandrum - 10g.

Pythium oligandrum - key properties of the substance:

Spores of the fungus Pythium oligandrum:

  • Ubiquitous in soils at low concentration,
  • Hyperparasite of fungal microorganisms,
  • Induces induced resistance,
  • Stimulates plant growth,
  • Strain isolated from beet roots,
  • Not genetically modified in any way.

Hyphae of Pythium oligandrum wrap around the pathogenic fungus.

Against which fungal diseases does Polygreen protect?

  • Fusarium head blight,
  • Dry rot of cabbages,
  • Sclerotinia stem rot.

In which crops can the natural product Polygreen Fungicide be used?

  • Spring barley,
  • Spring wheat,
  • Winter wheat,
  • Winter oilseed rape.

Ecological fungicide Polygreen - pre-harvest interval and re-entry period:

Pre-harvest interval - period from the last application of the product to the day of crop harvest:

  • Not applicable.

Re-entry period - period from application to the day when people may enter the treated area and animals may be introduced:

  • Do not enter until the spray liquid on the plant surfaces is completely dry.

Biofungicide Polygreen - preparation of spray liquid:

Spores of P. oligandrum, the active substance of Polygreen Fungicide WP, require preliminary activation before use, which should be carried out as follows:

  • Place the filter bag with the measured amount of Polygreen Fungicide WP into a clean container.
  • Tightly tie the filter bag. Pour an appropriate amount (min 5 l per 250 g of product) of clean, lukewarm water.
  • Leave the tightly tied filter bag in the water for at least 1 hour (but no longer than ten hours).

After one hour, squeeze the Polygreen Fungicide WP bag by hand so that only the granules (mineral carrier, containing no toxic substances) remain, which can be spread, for example, on the field. After cleaning and rinsing, the bag can be reused for another activation of Polygreen Fungicide WP. Pour the resulting spore suspension into the sprayer tank filled halfway with water with the agitator turned on. The treatment should be performed no later than ten hours after wetting (activation of the microorganism) Polygreen Fungicide WP in water.

Note: If the sprayer was previously used for fungicide treatments, it must be thoroughly cleaned, as contamination may deactivate the solution.

Polygreen Fungicide WP - recommendations for use:

  • Polygreen Fungicide WP works most effectively in growing medium at temperatures of 12-25°C and pH 5.5-7.5.
  • Apply Polygreen Fungicide WP treatments early in the morning or late in the evening (avoid strong sunlight during treatments).
  • If using the product in sequence with chemical products, maintain at least a 7-day interval to prevent chemical products from affecting Pythium oligandrum – does not apply to compatible products.
  • Do not apply chemical fungicides to the soil after using Polygreen Fungicide WP.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.
  • Wear protective gloves and protective clothing to prevent exposure to plant protection products during preparation of the spray liquid and application. Also use respiratory protection (FFP2 filter half-mask) during preparation of the spray liquid.
  • Do not contaminate water with the plant protection product or its packaging. Do not wash equipment near surface waters. Avoid contaminating waters via drainage ditches from farms and roads. To protect aquatic organisms, a 1 m buffer zone from water bodies and watercourses must be established. To protect plants and non-target arthropods, a 1 m buffer zone from non-agricultural land must be established.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store the plant protection product:
− in places or facilities with appropriate measures to prevent environmental contamination and access by unauthorised persons,
− in original packaging, preventing contact with food, beverages or feed,
    − at temperatures of 5°C - 25°C.

Warning! Plant protection products must be used safely. Read the label and product information before each use.
