Description
PUSKAS – broad spectrum crop protection against fungal diseases
PUSKAS is a modern fungicide designed to protect oilseed rape, maize and potato against key fungal diseases that can significantly limit yield and crop quality. The product contains two complementary active substances: fluopyram (125 g/l) from the benzamide group and prothioconazole (125 g/l) from the triazole group.
This combination provides a broad spectrum of activity and high efficacy under various crop conditions. Thanks to its systemic action, PUSKAS effectively protects plants both preventively and curatively, supporting healthy plant development and stable yield formation.
Mode of action
PUSKAS combines two different modes of action of active substances, which complement and enhance the protective effect.
Fluopyram belongs to the SDHI fungicide group and acts by inhibiting cellular respiration of pathogens. It effectively limits the development of leaf and generative organ diseases, providing long-lasting plant protection.
Prothioconazole is an active substance from the triazole group, acting systemically by inhibiting sterol biosynthesis in fungal cells. It shows high efficacy against a wide spectrum of pathogens, protecting plants at critical stages of their development.
The combination of active substances from different FRAC groups increases treatment efficacy and is an important element of anti-resistance strategy in fungicide protection.
Application and controlled diseases
PUSKAS is intended for the protection of several important agricultural crops against fungal diseases.
Winter oilseed rape and spring oilseed rape
- sclerotinia stem rot
- blackleg
- grey mould
Maize (including sweet maize)
- maize yellow leaf spot
- maize common leaf spot
Potato
- alternaria leaf spot of potato
The product is best used preventively or after the first symptoms of diseases appear, in accordance with the recommended application timings and doses for each crop.
Application recommendations
The product should be applied during periods of highest risk of fungal diseases, using field sprayers intended for professional users.
- perform treatments preventively or at the first symptoms of diseases
- apply according to recommended doses and timings
- observe the maximum number of treatments per growing season
- ensure thorough and even coverage of plants with spray liquid
- use as part of a fungicide protection programme with rotation of active substances
Benefits of using PUSKAS
- broad spectrum of controlled diseases in oilseed rape, maize and potato
- combination of two active substances with different modes of action
- systemic action – protection of the whole plant
- preventive and curative efficacy
- support of anti-resistance strategy (FRAC 7 + 3)
- easy integration into modern fungicide protection programmes
Notes
PUSKAS should be used in accordance with the instructions on the plant protection product label and integrated pest management principles.
To reduce the risk of pathogen resistance development, rotation with fungicides with different modes of action is recommended, observing the maximum number of treatments per season and applying the recommended doses.
Required pre-harvest intervals and withholding periods specified on the product label must also be observed.
