TYSON F1 CABBAGE - VARIETY CHARACTERISTICS
Tyson F1 is a versatile white cabbage variety, intended both for the fresh market and for pickling. The vegetation period is about 125 days, allowing for medium-term harvest planning.
Heads
The heads are slightly flattened, with a very good internal structure. The leaves are thin and tightly packed, and the internal core is short, which increases the commercial value of the variety. Depending on the planting density, the head weight ranges from about 3 kg (at 40,000 pcs/ha) up to even 5 kg (at 25,000 pcs/ha).
Resistances
- IR: bacterial diseases of the genus Xanthomonas
- The plant is less infested by thrips, which further improves the yield quality.
Application and storage
Tyson F1 performs excellently in direct sales and processing. Thanks to its compact structure and head quality, the variety can be stored until February, maintaining good structure and flavour qualities.
