Description

FEATURES OF THE WINTER WHEAT WILEJKA VARIETY:

Winter wheat Wilejka is a true leader in frost resistance on the European seed market. It achieves an excellent frost resistance rating (7.5/9 in official registration trials in Lithuania), making it one of the most freeze-resistant varieties available to farmers. Classified as a medium heading and ripening variety, it performs very well in varied weather conditions. Its distinctive feature is the awned ear structure, which in many cultivation areas serves as a natural protective barrier against wildlife (wild boars, roe deer), reducing the risk of feeding damage in the crop.

Choosing Wilejka means obtaining top-class grain for delivery. The grain is characterised by a very high hectolitre weight (exceptionally heavy) and high protein and gluten content, which translates into excellent technological and baking properties. The variety also shows high resistance to significant fungal diseases, primarily brown rust, brown leaf spot and glume septoria, which significantly facilitates fungicide protection of the crop.

Advantages of choosing Winter Wheat WILEJKA:

  • Outstanding frost resistance: Extremely high frost tolerance (high rating in own research and 7.5/9 in Lithuanian tests) ensures 100% certainty of maintaining optimal plant density even after a harsh winter.
  • Elite grain parameters: Produces very heavy grain with a high hectolitre weight and guaranteed high protein and gluten content.
  • Awned ear type: Naturally discourages wildlife from damaging crops and feeding in fields adjacent to forested areas.
  • High disease resistance: Strong innate resistance to brown rust and glume septoria stabilises high yield and optimises fertilisation and spraying costs.
