Carrot Flakkese 2 is a mid-late variety distinguished by excellent orange-red colouring of both the cortex and the core. The roots do not show a green shoulder and are resistant to alternaria leaf spot.
The variety produces extremely smooth and shiny roots measuring 20–24 cm in length, slightly conical, almost cylindrical and blunt-ended. When sown at about 800,000 seeds per hectare, they grow to large sizes, making them an attractive raw material for dicing.
Flakkese 2 is a very high-yielding variety with strong and healthy tops. It is suitable for direct supply to the market, for storage and for processing, with the additional advantage of an attractive seed price.
