The Drosophila suzukii attractant liquid is a mixture of various food ingredients. It contains no pesticides or pheromones. It exhibits particularly strong attraction properties for spotted wing drosophila. A distinctive feature of the liquid is its very low surface tension. As a result, flies immediately drown upon contact with the liquid, having no chance to escape.
