Description
Romaine lettuce is characterised by a longer shelf life, higher tolerance to high temperatures, and higher nutritional value than butterhead or crisphead lettuce. The plants form loosely rolled, elliptical elongated heads, weighing 800-1000 g. The tastiest part is the so-called inner head, consisting of several inner leaves. For spring harvest, sow under cover in March-April. For summer harvest, sow directly into the ground in April-May. For autumn harvest, sow in July-August. Cultivate with spacing of 25x30 cm, on fertile soil rich in water.
