Description

Provati 460 EC – comprehensive cereal protection against fungal diseases

Provati 460 EC is a modern fungicide designed to protect cereals against the most important fungal diseases occurring in the crop stand. The product contains two complementary active substances: prothioconazole (160 g/l) from the triazole group and spiroxamine (300 g/l) from the ketoamine group. This combination ensures a broad spectrum of controlled pathogens and high efficacy under various cultivation conditions.

Thanks to its systemic action, the product effectively protects plants both preventively and interventively, supporting healthy cereal development and stable yield formation, even under increased disease pressure.

Mode of action

Provati 460 EC combines two different mechanisms of action of the active substances, which complement each other and enhance the protective effect.

Spiroxamine acts systemically by disrupting sterol biosynthesis in fungal cells. It inhibits the development of pathogens responsible, among others, for basal stem diseases and leaf diseases, limiting further spread of infection within the plant.

Prothioconazole also exhibits systemic action and belongs to the triazole fungicides group (DMI). It effectively inhibits the development of a wide spectrum of leaf and ear pathogens, providing long-lasting plant protection during key growth stages.

The use of two active substances from different FRAC groups increases treatment efficacy and supports resistance management strategies.

Application and controlled diseases

Provati 460 EC is intended for cereal protection against fungal diseases in the most important plant growth stages.

Winter and spring wheat

  • powdery mildew of cereals and grasses
  • wheat brown rust
  • septoria leaf blotch
  • septoria glume blotch
  • brown leaf spot
  • brittle stem of cereals and grasses
  • fusarium basal stem and root rot

Winter and spring barley

  • powdery mildew of cereals and grasses
  • barley rust
  • barley net blotch
  • rhynchosporium of cereals
  • brittle stem of cereals and grasses
  • fusarium basal stem and root rot

The product is best applied preventively or at the first symptoms of disease, according to the recommended application timings.

Application recommendations

The product should be applied during periods of highest risk of fungal diseases, using field sprayers.

  • perform treatment preventively or at the first symptoms of disease
  • apply according to recommended doses and timings
  • perform a maximum of one application per growing season
  • ensure thorough and even coverage of plants with spray liquid
  • use as part of a fungicide protection programme considering active substance rotation

Benefits of using Provati 460 EC

  • broad spectrum of controlled cereal diseases
  • combination of two active substances with different modes of action
  • systemic action – whole plant protection
  • preventive and interventive efficacy
  • supports anti-resistance strategy
  • safe integration into cereal protection programmes

Notes

Provati 460 EC should be used in accordance with the plant protection product label and integrated pest management principles.

To reduce the risk of pathogen resistance development, rotation with fungicides with different modes of action is recommended, adherence to the maximum number of treatments per season, and use of recommended product doses.

Required pre-harvest intervals and withholding periods specified on the product label must also be observed.
